Or maybe he found out about one she had when she was touring the country and opening the hotel doors in her undies...

I think Perm3800 has the right track. She was not a politician when she came in and she is not one now. She has stood in the limelight and taken all kinds of shots that were not hurled at other candidates especially the male ones. Now we have all kinds of ugly assumptions about her and her husband and her kids. Enough is enough! She has taken blows she didn't deserve and so have her kids and husband. They have been watched more closely than Hoover watched MLK. Enough already. LEt her go in peace. We have had our laughs at her expense. Let it go already.

If she is indeed stepping down to take care of her family and her small son that I certainly respect that decision. I just find it hard to believe that the woman who put her political aspirations ahead of everything, including the feelings of her teen-aged, unwed, pregnant daughter, would do anything without some kind of self-promoting plan in place.

If I'm wrong I'll feel bad about it for a minute or two and then I'll get on with my life. I hope she does too.

I agree with annie..and she's a democrat..this gal was slimed from day one by an Obama obsessed media.. how dare she rain on the messiahs parade? those of you that have piled on to this frenzy will have to ask your selfs some questions one day. the one thing that has concerned me the most about the administration is it's penchant for personally attacking and humiliating any one that is in opposition. I couldn't believe that a sitting president would actually mention a "Joe the plumber" or Sean Hannity. people, that has never been done before and if a republican was doing it the NYT would have page one stories of a "chilling effect":..don't let your victory make you callous..remember that the minority needs to be allowed to speak and that the power of the state needs to be accountable. one day they will come for you.

I seriously doubt Sarah Palin is resigning from politics. The Republican base wants her, and I see this move as a way to give her more time to work the national scene. She found out she did not have the job knowledge or political experience in the lower 48 states to win in 2008, and by resigning now, she has 3 1/2 years to work on her deficiencies, rather than 2 years if she were to serve out her term as Governor, plus by resigning, eliminates a year and a half of possibly making a more costly political blunder while in office. I think it was a smart move on her part, and I am definitely not a Palin fan. It will be pretty easy to figure this one out pretty quickly if this is the case. Unlike some in this group, I don't feel sorry for her, in how she has been treated. When the Republican party unveiled her right before the primary, they unleashed an attack dog. She came out of the gate calling Obama everything but the N-word. She did not treat her opponents with any respect, and found out the wisdom in the old saying about throwing rocks when you live in a glass house. She can sling mud with the best of them, but gets very indignant when something is hurled back. I actually hoped she might be a breath of fresh air in the Republican party, and might try to change their style of politicking. What I have seen so far certainly doesn't indicate that she is one that would ever try to reach across the aisle, or put any value on anyone's opinion but her own. I don't know if what I have seen from her is really her style or is a product of party grooming. I'm sick and tired of what the political campaigns have turned into, from both sides, and would welcome a non-mudslinging moderate from any party.

Something smells rotten in Alaska.

If the reason Sarah resigned was because Trig needed surgery Sarah would have milked it for all it was worth. Wave the flag of motherhood and a special needs child.

Why should those ethics complaints bother her? The Board gets paid to do a job, they were appointed by her so its not likely they're going to find her guilty. The FOIA requests cost the requester .50 a page. Her legal bills are being paid by her fan base and at the last count that fund had a million dollars in it, so it cost her nothing.

Dragon, I love you man but you need to rethink the time leading up to the election. In my opinion, Obama took the high road while McCain, Palin and the Rove bandwagon were slinging more mud than a runaway horse's hooves the day after a big rain.

What seems to you like a crowd of people picking on poor little Sarah, or Snow White as one poor sap termed her, is a just a lot of individuals expressing their opinions about her and her politics. If she can't handle the heat she should have stayed home in Wasilla.

Oh my... "poor" Sarah? Well, some folks just can't see her for what she is... or, wants to be anyway!

In addition to being an airheaded twit, now add "quitter" to her resume. Poor Sarah, my ass, she deserved every arrow shot her way.
