Sarah Palin resigning her postition of Governor

Palin will resign her position as Governor of Alaska as of July 26th. Speculation is that she may be quitting to start her bid for the presidency in 2012. I think it may be a little early for that to happen so what's up I wonder?

That she would not seek re-election would be OK for a potential run in 2012, but immediate resignation suggests something catastrophic.....

ESPECIALLY since this lady is NOT the kind to run from something.....

On the upside, maybe now the on-sided, mindless attacks from total idiots and others (e.g., Letterman) will finally stop.....and the facts may finally come out.....

For example, in the last election, she was the only candidate from ANY party to have a legitimate history and knowledge of alternative energies and how they work in the domestic economy AND have that combined with Executive experience! And yes, the information is out there and documented, go look it up!

I wouldn't vote for anyone who didn't serve out their full term in office for any other office. The people of Alaska voted for her to serve her full term. The only valid reason not to was if she had won the Vice Presidency. If the reason she quit was because of the heat she has taken in the past year I especially don't want her as President as they take the most heat and bear the most responsibility for us as a nation.

IMO the wrong Republican governor quit.

I think the personal attacks on Palin's family have taken their toll. Also, legal fees have mounted to a half million dollars and the Palins are not wealthy people. I look for her to be in demand for speaking engagements. Letterman was brutal and wrong as he apparently thought he was speaking of the 18 year old and A-Rod and it turned out to be the 14 year old traveling with her Mom. I quit watching him as he had been harping on Palin and plainly seemed obsessed. It is so wrong to attack children, any politicians children regardless.

For those who don't want to vote for her in 2012, no sweat, don't.....all I am saying is I have my doubts that a run in 2012 is the real reason and she should be given a little room.....

Actually, Sarah Palin has a nice lucrative deal for a book. Not sure how much she's gotten as an advance. I wouldn't claim poverty. Not to mention the governor's office has no doubt paid some of those legal expenses.

hershman, if she had a valid reason for quitting she should have been up front about it in her press conference. The people of Alaska have a right to know why the person they entrusted with the office is ducking out on the remaining 2 years. The notion of not wanting to be a lame duck doesn't cut it. That was the reason she gave, not even the routine "spend more time with my family". If it had been something like a health problem with her youngest she'd have made that known as it would have worked in her favor. As it was, it seemed like a rush decision as even her Lt. Governor didn't know about it.

Without a valid reason, would you really trust her to be President in 2012?

If the American people can trust a man who conceals information, has friends the likes of Ayers, Wright, etc,. has No official experience (not even as a governor), has affiliations with and supports an organization with multiple fraud lawsuits filed against them, has a far left agenda, etc., etc., etc. I would say that her quitting this position early does not disqualify her to be president.

I wouldn't trust a quitter. I didn't trust Obama enough to vote for him and I'd have even less trust for a quitter. She'd have been better off staying in office and either spending her last year campaigning for the Presidency if that's what she really wanted or doing like Bob Dole did and resigning after she announced her candidacy.

Well I plan a reserving my final judgment on this until she explains her position.

She didn't exactly do a bang up job in her resignation speech. If it turns out to be due to a family crisis, I'll change my mind. If it turns out to be strictly for political gain, she'll drop a couple of notches in my opinion. We've already got way too many politicians working for their own political gain and abandoning the people.

Msahdow honestly I don't think she has any more notches she could drop in your opinion. Isn't she pretty much right down there as far as she can go?
