Sarah Palin resigning her postition of Governor

Palin will resign her position as Governor of Alaska as of July 26th. Speculation is that she may be quitting to start her bid for the presidency in 2012. I think it may be a little early for that to happen so what's up I wonder?

I do notice that you seem to be following the Anchorage Daily News though Mac. Perhaps you'd like to comment on the 18 (eighteen) ethics complaints filed against Palin since July of 2008. view link I guess I might have given up the ship too, if I were having to spend all my time in front of the ethics committee instead of running the state.

Or perhaps you may be a fan of Vanity Fair, they have some really nice things to say about the soon to be es-Governor too. view link

'mon Pluto, everyone knows Vanity Fair is a pretend high-class gossip column. It's all opinion and lightly researched speculation. Don't sink to that level.

And it's "ex" governor.

BTW, y'all are cracking me up. This thread really needs to be closed down.

Of Todd Pernum, the author of the Vanity Fair article... even Bill Clinton said:

"He's a really dishonest reporter... But he's a real slimy guy."

If Bill C thinks you are slimy.... well...

Yes you did, Pluto. I was trying to be such a smart-a** that my keyboard kept me honest. I hate that!

So long Sarah. We'll wait to see what your priorities are.

I got to thinking about Palin being called a quitter and not fulfilling her obligations to her constituents who elected her and then I got to thinking about Obama. Didn't he pretty much quit on his constituents when he decided to run for a better job even though he had been in the Senate only a short time? So in the scheme of things one could say that she is no better or worse than the man who is president. At least she was a lame duck governor but to the contrary he was a newly elected Senator who did not fulfill his obligation either.

IMHO what Obama did was worse - he kept the Senate job but didn't do it since he was so busy campaigning.

I'm with you Arky, you get a politician that is honest enough to say they don't want to go on collecting a paycheck for doing nothing, the critics come out of the woodwork. Obama was very happy to be chairman of a committee that he never attended and get a check he didn't earn. But you can see, that is the kind of President he is, spend money we don't have on projects that don't need to be done. It might be nice to see an honest politician in the White House, hard to believe all the fuss about her - time will tell if she is able to keep up her base and build more support. One thing she is very good is rile up the dems. What are they afraid of? They seem to protest too much - must be something there for this obsession with trying to tear her down.
