Sarah Palin will not be running for re-election and she is stepping down as Governor of Alaska at the end of the month.

A Republican source close to her political team told CNN's John King that it was a "calculation" she made that "it was time to move on." The governor's "book deal and other issues" were "causing a lot of friction" in her home state, the source said, adding that he believes she is "mapping out a path to 2012. view link

" knows when it's time to pass the ball", this from her news conference. I think it's more likely that she wants to leave now, as the state is in really bad shape, let the other guy deal with it! Can't even finish one term as governor, I'd say she lacks staying power to be POTUS for sure.

No, Panch, it won't come out until after she loses the 2012 election, and it will be "Playboy", not Penthouse. Title "the spiritual side of Sarah"! Let him dream, it's more lilkely to happen that he's seeing President Palin.

I also agree with Charles that Palin can't keep her mouth shut. This is the Internet Age. If you screw up, sooner or later it ends up on facebook or YouTube. Someone Palin ran over in her meteoric rise to fame is bound to tweet about her on Twitter.

Instead of Beverly Hillbillies, the featured hicks will be rural Alaskans with their quaint ways of beheading turkeys and shooting wolves. Maybe the Palins can take the "John and Kate Plus Eight's" slot?
