Holy Shit!

Sarah Palin will not be running for re-election and she is stepping down as Governor of Alaska at the end of the month.

A Republican source close to her political team told CNN's John King that it was a "calculation" she made that "it was time to move on." The governor's "book deal and other issues" were "causing a lot of friction" in her home state, the source said, adding that he believes she is "mapping out a path to 2012. view link

MissC, there was certainly no inference that all fifty states aren't equal, just that I prefer she stay in Alaska, thus avoiding the media. GEEEZ, sorry.

Torry, hunny.....you're clearly very nice and I enjoy your posts. No need for GEEEZ...not on my account anyway.

I promise you that each and every one of us has stumbled over our own words and have had to sit back and try to do better the next time we post. We fail most of the time, but hopefully our better thinking expressed more often prevails, and those that know us walk on by our shortcomings. Lord knows that I have a lot of those.

Sarah Palin has threatened to sue Shannyn Moore for defamation if she doesn't keep quiet about those rumors about an inquiry into her house and the Sports Complex.

Shannyn Moore held a press conference this morning and told Sarah to bring it on.

This could get interesting folks...

Great stuff at that link, Two. Thanks. :) Among my favorites:

"Moore has already discussed the threat on her radio show, where she said emphatically, "Bring it on." She said she had already gotten legal advice, and has a long list of attorneys who had emailed her, stepping up and eagerly offering to depose Sarah Palin in such a case. Now that would make for some damn good blogging material.

"Using the substantial might of the Executive branch of government to bring down unenforceable legal threats on a private citizen in Alaska, and attempting to curtail free speech through intimidation on the Fourth of July? Not a particularly brilliant PR move."

And then, I really like the closing:
"In solidarity with my friend and fellow Alaskan blogger, may I be the next to report to the team of Palin-Van Flein, and to the entire blogosphere at large:

THERE ARE RUMORS.

There. I said it.

Sue me.

I liked this from Shannyn's press conference...

When Sarah Palin gave her three-weeks notice to the people of Alaska, aborting her term as Governor, a lot of people wondered why she quit. Mid-level managers turn-in their notice, not elected public officials. It didn't make sense. It still doesn't. People have been trying to guess why she really quit, and everyone in Alaska has been playing the guessing game. They're rumors. There are a lot of rumors. And with all the corruption we've had here in Alaska, of course we wonder what's really behind her resignation.

Sarah Palin is a coward and a bully. What kind of politician attacks an ordinary American on the Fourth of July for speaking her mind? What's wrong with her? The First Amendment was designed to protect people like me from the likes of people like her. Our American Revolution got rid of kings. And queens, too. Am I jacked-up? You betcha.

Excellent use of the word abort.

I also like the words "coward and bully" in this context. It's been months since I visited Veggie's "Sara Palin: Bridge to Nowhere." I may need to drop in. I keep hoping Ms. P will simply go away.

I see ...can't even finish one term as Gov...seems to me that we elected a president that couldn't enven finish 200 days in the senate...so what is the big deal? His inexperience is now costing us our future.

We elected another one who couldn't finish a stint in the Air National Guard too, but that didn't stop him from sending over 4000 other people to their deaths in a war based on lies. I feel pretty comfortable with the one we have right now.
