Holy Shit!

Sarah Palin will not be running for re-election and she is stepping down as Governor of Alaska at the end of the month.

A Republican source close to her political team told CNN's John King that it was a "calculation" she made that "it was time to move on." The governor's "book deal and other issues" were "causing a lot of friction" in her home state, the source said, adding that he believes she is "mapping out a path to 2012. view link

I guess the kitchen got to hot for her.

Alaska is going to hell in a handbasket, her approval rating is tanking and she's running away so she can play the blame game with her successor.

Oh yeah that inspires confidence...what's she going to do? Leave the White House when it gets too hot?

A quick google of The Anchorage Daily News gives a little insight into how the good citizens of AK feel about the Gov.

Is it just me , or does Sarah Palin seem to get about 100 times as much publicity . most of it attacks ,as any other losing vice-presidential candidate in memory , or possibly ever ?

My mind keeps wondering, what could be behind this? My imagination takes over? You know the repubs have not been very happy with her in Alaska of late, never mind the dems. Perhaps, the repubs have some "real dirt" on her, they give her the option to resign, or get blown out of the water? Just doesn't make sense, can't even finish one term as governor?

What the Alaska Daily News is reporting.... view link

She says since she decided not to run for Governor she doesn't want to become another "lame duck. She's already been a lame duck for the last few months. Heck, she couldn't even get her nominee for AG confirmed.

Some of the comments are quite interesting... There's another shoe that's going to drop. Some are suggesting an investigation into her finances...others say its about those pesky emails....

Andrea Mitchell is saying that sources tell her that Palin is leaving politics for good. I'm not buying it.

She dropped out so she could prepare for the 2012 POTUS Election.

I heard her Resignation "Speech" and it sounded more like a therapy session. Really, she is way to hysterical and sensitive to be POTUS. And let me tell you how I resent using the word "Hysterical" when referring to a woman in American Politics.

I heard that her Lt Gov had that "Deer In the Headlights Look," so he wasn't expecting this at all. I am sure she will vet Sally Kern of Oklahoma for her runningmate in 2012, bringing two elements together that will bring about the end of the world on the Aztec Calendar.

I forgot to add, though that this quitting during the lame session of her term seems to show a certain amount of spinelessness and a short attention span. A lot of her own will not love her for that alone. After all, you run for office and stay in, short of being surgically removed, both to finish the job, and to never place one's legitimacy in question, which she just did.
