She is doing this to free up her run for president in 2012. This is why I don't like her. She is blatantly HUNGRY for the job. I have no respcet for her at all, Zip, Zilch, Nada!
And how otherwise intelligent people can't see through her, I don't know.
I have more respect for a little waitress I met at the Colorado Cafe who works two jobs, raises a thriteen year old son alone, and dances as she serves drinks.

It seems to me that Sarah Palin has gotten at least 100 times more publicity than any losing vice-presidential candidate in memory and probably in our entire history . The overwhelming majority of it has been attacks even now , 9 months after she lost .

What I dislike about her?
The fact that she was selected by a myopic GOP as a women's rights candidate when she is the last candidate that any thinking woman would ever consider;
That she chose to go gutter-sniping with McCain and his Rovian-inspired campaign;
That she paraded her unwed, pregnant, teen-aged daughter before the world at a time when Bristol was sorely in need of a real mother and a little motherly protection;
That she has the intelligence of a broom handle but positions herself as god's gift to the American public;
That she and Joe the plumber co-opted the 2008 Presidential campaign to further their own political agendas with no thought for anyone other than themselves;
That she winks and leers and puts on her hockey-mom act in order to whore votes;
That's the short list but I'm sure you get the drift.
Are you sure she isnt getting out of politics because she got a job offer she couldnt refuse with Saturday Night Live?? ;)
I doubt it, LJ. She can't do Sarah Palin nearly as well as Tina Fey does.
My guess is that Palin will be offered a bunch of money to do TV on FOX or some such miserable excuse for an information outlet.
Also, she rambled so at her press conference it was questionable that she had prepared for this press conference too much in advance. Makes you wonder wassup! Caught everyone by surprise.
NPR is reporting that even Alaska's Lt. Gov. was completely surprised by the announcement.
Also, Anne Coulter is about played out. Old hag-rag.

I have to admit that I haven't found Palin to be nearly as strident and infuriating as Coulter. Ann makes me want to shoot myself in the head with a dart gun.
Oh rest assured, Palin can be strident and infuriating in her own way which, of course, comes off as just plain stupid. Coulter is reallyreallyreally bright which is why she's so strident. It takes brains to be that infuriating.

Shortly before she joined the McCain campaign, as governor of Alaska, she met with the Washington Republican big wig insiders at the governor's mansion (so much for being an outsider). The reports are that they were so charmed and infatuated with her that it was embarassing because their response clearly was a "sexual" one, i.e. they all developed a "crush" on her. She was off and running. Talk about using one's sexuality !!! Long-form story in the New York Times or Washington Post archives.
Speculation is that she's clearing the way for a Presidential run.
She may be a long shot, but so was George W. Bush.
If they can make George W. Bush "presidential," they can make Palin the same.
