Those Poor Teabaggers...

Looks like without the Faux Networks incessant promotion and ramblings about the upcoming Fourth of July tea party festivities, not to mention the lack of support of the Republican Party which didn't last until June.

Did they finally wake up and smell the tea? That protesting tax increases after one of the biggest tax cuts in recent history was just plain stupid.

Its pretty much a bust. view link

Phil Valentine, another one of those scary talkies has started a new movement Give the Senate Some Balls. view link

Facts always seem to intrude on prejudicial thought.

ok..I'll go the other way..if we get "cap and trade" the tax increase will be on your electric bill."green" may well be the most expensive concept we've ever seen. we've got the coal..we should burn it..we've got the natural gas we should exploit it. BTW..did you know that the other planets are also going through "global warming?"..could this be due to the activity of the sun..just maybe? and we should be making plans to adapt to it instead of killing our economy>

Dragon, I got tired of the global warming fight long ago, because there are those that refuse to read the data, thus I take the approach of pollution in general. Do you ever remember when you were a kid, having the weather man warn you each day, or inform you, of the air quality, the danger of being outside? I don't, but it's a regular part of the daily forcast now. I live in the country, not LA!

It makes no sense to continue to pollut our air, destroy it for our children, and grandchildren.

I have a friend that works for NOAA, he tracks pollution. These gases from coal powered plants travel thousands of miles.
Though, he like I, has no idea what to do with nuclear waste, thus opposes it, it does not cause the damgage (without castotrophic failure) that coal plants do.

It really won't matter if the earth warms or not if we all die from poor air qualilty?

Google, The real cost of cap and trade, you'll get lots of articles from the right and left, use your mind, not just your wallet.

Here's one link for one, and yes, it's "left" leaning -- LOL

Though, I struggle with the economics of my situation daily, but do okay, my greatest goal is to leave this world a better place! When the hell did it become un-American to pay taxes?

Green is expensive, but its better than some of the alternatives.

You can do a lot of small things to increase your energy efficiency. Doing that, does two things, It saves you money in general, AND it saves the environment in a way that makes it liveable for us and our progeny.

We have changed out all light bulbs for the spiral ones, except for gro lights and the lights we use to heat the incubators for our chicks and poults.
We have upgraded our insulation and our windows and doors and our roof.
We bought flannel sheets and warm comforters and long johns for the winter so we can keep our thermostat down.
We are in the process of building solar heat collectors so we can further reduce our use of propane for heat.
We grow some of our own food.
We plan our trips into town to save gasoline.
We buy our outdoor work clothes and play clothes from thrift stores {except for undies, swimsuits and shoes}
We recycle plastic, cardboard, tin, and glass.
We compost food scraps.

We look for products that have less packaging, or are made of recycled material like toilet paper.
We recycle old clothes, toys and the like by taking them good will thrift stores.

We do all those things and it helps. It looks like hardwork, but we changed this stuff, one at a time over a couple years. Its just a matter of changing your habits.
If you can quit smoking or go on a diet, you can go green.

Actually Dragon might have a hound in that race since he is CEO of a company that he once owned, his wife works and they may well make 250k a year.

And he likes a "hot body"! One thing that's a bit confusing though, I though he like some brains to go along with that? Guess not?

OMG, TWO, don't go there, tomorrow will be my third week without a smoke! I have chewed enough nicorette gum (generic) to own stock, bit my lip a thousand times! I don't think about the cigarettes so much anymore, but God forbid that I should run out of the gum, and it's probably not doing the teeth and gums any good! I don't think I'll ever say again that I've "quit", I'll just say haven't had one in 21 days. I've been a year before!
