I had great appreciation for his music; and, I'm sorry about his death - because he was a human being, loved by his family & friends & many fans. But if I'm to be 100% honest, then I have to admit, I'm really sick of hearing about it. And I suspect we aren't even close to it being behind us.
Yeah catteyes, you said it he WAS good in the 80s. But his life was a disaster.. accused of child molestation, yes, I know he was acquitted but still .... and the media frenzy! We have had just MJ on CNN and all TV channels... enough is enough! please.......there are another important news, aren't there? just my opinion....
Geez, sorry folks. I just ran across the video and wanted to share it.
I VERY much appreciated it, cat, because I am a fan. Think back to 1977 and the hoopla for Elvis. That was another era but still as devestating to the fans(me also). This video makes me sadder in that just a short time before his death, he was doing what he liked, it top form. I hope they either televise this whole practice session or work it into a documentary. I know, I know - UGH! But you can turn it off or change the channel (yes, there are other things on) To some, this is such a crying shame and the end of an era. I think because some people see the whole world is grieving over someone that they aren't so "thrilled" about, it makes them mad.
Just saying...
Catt..no problem with the post. I was just voicing my opinion. It's not just this incident. When I think back to 9/11 - that's probably one of the most horrific things I've ever lived thru - even witnessed the 2nd plane hitting the tower on TV live. But the media just drives things in the ground - sensationalizing everything to try to get the one up on each other in the ratings. ANYthing newsworthy is just way overdone. I saw one of my friends post on facebook this morning that in the Houston paper today there were all these headlines & stories & pics all about MJ - down at the bottom of the page in a tiny little article was a story about the American soldier that was captured in Afghanistan. Something is just wrong with this picture!
I agree with you 100% Too! I think that it sells more MJ than the American soldier that was captured!
Everything is about money.....once again, it's my opinion!
I don't know how ANY of your replies (except Razz) have anything whatsoever to do with why I posted the video. If you're sick of MJ, then why the hell did you look at the post? It was quite clear what it was about; no one forced you to look, nor were you forced to reply. I agree that the media is obnoxious, but why talk about that in my post about his talent? They have nothing to do with one another, and you didn't have to read it. All I wanted to do was share a video with people who appreciated his talent; not get dumped on.
Catt, I saw this youtube last night and the first thing that came to my mind was, "I sure which he could have been around to finish that, we will never know how wonderful it was going to be." And something tells me, it would have been pretty good. Thanks for sharing...
I'm glad you enjoyed it, still. It made me realize how sad I was that so much talent was gone forever. His dancing was spectacular; Fred Astair said he was the only one he could picture playing his part in a movie.
I heard that Fred A. actually called him to compliment him on his dancing talents. I used to watch Gene Kelley as well, and think "wow" he was great. But Michael had a flair, no, that was Astair and Kelley - MJ had a indescribable passion when he danced. It was sexy (more so in his younger years) and it was attractive to me, because he was this untouchable person that the world loved. Right now every day in the world there is killing of innocent people and soldiers. Every single day that stuff is in the paper or on the news. It's becoming second nature during war time. Not because we expect it or get used to it, but because unless it touches your own life, your own family, we try to block it out. MJ dying and the grief that is felt is one thing that millions of people share. It's the end of someone that brought happiness to lots of people thru his music and dance. And if he had died @ 95 in a nursing home, it wouldn't feel as bad....so it is a tragedy to some of us. And thats why we need to talk about it.
I am guilty of reading a post and commenting when I have nothing good to say about it too. I need to watch that. I forget the person posting has their own feelings about it, that's why they posted it in the first place. This is not "Rants and Raves" - the people in that group will jump down your throat! lol
