Stupid things part 2, non-tech

Today we fly, tomorrow we sail...so my timing was perfect. Yesterday I barbecued chicken. To not have to spend an hour watching the grill, I baked the chicken for 45 minutes first. When the chicken was done in the oven, I placed the pieces in a plate and carried them outside to the grill. Unknown to me, on the way to the grill, a bit of the chicken grease spilled to the floor. The next trip out to check on the chicken I found the spilled grease. My left foot stepped into the grease and lost traction with the floor, then shot straight out. My right foot maintained traction. This forced my center of gravity to drop at a rapid rate of speed, slamming my right knee into the floor.....
Many of you know that a few years ago I had a major wreck on a harley that resulted in my right leg being broken, both bones, just below the knee. This has caused ongoing problems with my right knee, not allowing me to ever play basketball again. (ok, I could have before if I wanted too!)The fear factor, as I was falling, was much greater then the pain factor when I actually hit. I was sure my leg was going to break again and I did not have insurance for the cruse! Well, I am in pain and severely slowed down, but I am going to Miami! My knee is wrapped, my handy cane is out of the closet, and the pain killers are kicking in. Oh, what was the stupid part? If I had carried the chicken in a bowl, as I usually do; instead of a plate...the grease would never have spilled.

Bravo Dell, but does the fact that they try to board handicap people first have anything to do with it. I am sure it was just a coinkydink.

yikes....I actually winced reading this, dell--I feel for ya! Here's hoping the pain meds make the trip bearable and that you are on the mend very soon--I guess the good news is you didn't break anything :o) Bon Voyage!!

Oh Dell, I'm so sorry to hear of your fall. I had a fall down a flight of stairs a few years ago where my right leg FLEW out in front of me and my left leg stayed stuck behind me... now I have trouble with my hips getting crooked. Then last winter, on the ice my left leg flew out in front of me and my right leg crumpled under me with my weight landing on it. I still have pain in my right calf but it is getting better. Thankfully I didn't break any bones either time but I can empathize with you for the pain. Get well soon and have a safe and fun trip. I'll be thinking of you.

Sorry to hear about your little chicken incident Dell. Just look at it this way, between the pain killers and the many cocktails you'll have on the cruise you'll feel no pain.

Oh Dell how will you dance all night on your Anniversary now?? We will have to dance for you I guess...good thing GNM knows us so well.
On a serious note I am also very sorry this happened to you at such a bad time. McButt you are waaaay too suspicious for your own good by the way.
Chin up Dell and I hope they didn't give you anything that won't allow you to drink...cause you sure can't be the DD so what good would that be?
See you soon.

Pandering for sympathy again.
If I've told you once I've told you a dozen times....the woman does the cooking and should be waiting on you hand and fractured foot. You just don't get the concept........gotta go....picturing you on a basketball court has me laughing so hard I've got to pee.
