Searching for a love from the past

I was curious if anyone in the group has ever searched for a love from the past, maybe that first love or maybe the one you now know you probably would have married if only...parents would have approved, you had been a little older, etc., etc. If you did undertake a search, how did it go and what was the result? Did you actually go through with meeting this person again? And would you do it again or knowing what you know NOW, would you have not done it??

Wakeupcall--pls. tell me what you mean by the last sentence? At my age I can't even put 2 and 2 together too well sometimes. Am I actively searching at the moment??

Maggie, remember I said that I would not advise too much of an active search but if it happens, it happens so........ Your profile show that you qualify. Have you stopped to think that sometimes when you can't put 2 & 2 together so well that maybe that is the opportune time? Mark my words Maggie............ THINGS HAPPEN !

Hmmmmmmm. OK, well I am open to whatever is waiting for me out there. I think so anyway. Ya know, with me connecting with old guy and girl friends, I don't recall that anyone has ever searched for ME! I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. LOL. Just that they all had more of me than they could stand the first time around I guess?! LOL. Ooooh baby, they don't know what they're missing by not knowing me now!! LOL. Seriously though, one thing that I have drastically changed since my HS days is my shyness. After I moved to Cincinnati from northwestern Ohio at age 16, I ended up graduating down here from a Catholic all-girl's high school. 125 girls in my graduating class. And I was voted the shyest of them all. Fast-forward to 2009. Shy???? No way. That is one quality I shrugged off on the way to where I am now.

I can certainly relate to that, maggie. One of my ex-classmates recently told me he thought I was a 'mouse' in high school. I assured him that was not the case now!

I am fully aware of the possibility of a big letdown or even total rejection. Having said that I still strongly believe, "I would rather try & fail that fail to try". My favorite quote.

I'm disappointed that I don't have a story to tell. I did dream of a few of women of my past. I was just at the Classmate site. I have no friends there and the folks looking for me are either married or guys. I've searched high and low for love or something like it and haven't found it yet. I've given up for a while. Maybe she will find me for a change. I've been told I look too hard and in the wrong places. *sigh*

Yes I did! I searched and found and - believe it or not - he is gay! Who would have known. He was the most popular guy with the gals in High School and college. And he was even snotty and rude. What a shock - but thats how my luck seems to go for the past few years.

My old high school found me on Classmates, and as I opened the email, I knew immediately who it was from, didn't even have to read the end to know. Now is that luck or not? Stay tuned for page 2 of "the rest of the story"... :)~
