I'm back from upstate NY and the cooler weather--it was so nice to be surrounded by tall, green trees everywhere! It was a bit of a whirlwind (my cousin grew up there and had waaaay too many friends to catch up with). I was fighting a sinus infection, but I enjoyed it. Meeting Lucinda, fella and justaredneck was great! (I wasn't feeling my best, though, so hope they didn't think I was a total 'dud' LOL) We had our lunch meeting after my cousin and I had spent the morning at Mohonk Mountain Inn--a 140 year old mountain lodge that is incredibly gorgeous--we had our family reunion on Saturday and I caught up with some relatives I haven't seen in 30 years; then we went into the city on Monday and toured Ellis Island, which was very evocative--seeing the photos of immigrants, reading their stories and being in that space was really moving. We had great weather, too :o) Got home Tuesday to HOT brown Texas and NO INTERNET--grrrr--they got that fixed today and here I am~
