Time for Author Update!

We are in the middle of the year and would love to hear what our authors are up to and have been up to!

I'm trying to escape from local author hell with three books, one is a fantasy, one is hard-core si fi and the third is a sci fi graphic novel (the Illustrator has worked on Dick Tracy). In order, the novels are Questing For Dragons, Passage to Mars and Methuselah's Gate. Keeps me busy.

I'm still working on the spy novel "Code Name Jonathan" and sometimes adding notes to a historical novel and of course my life story.

Len, I love the title you have: " Methuselah's Gate." My historical novel is called "Randall's Gate."

I'm about to send my third book to a printer and am still agonizing over whether to go with traditional printer or POD!

Here is the latest press release about "Anti-Vigilante and The Rips in Time", slated for an August release.......

*****************

Would you like to escape but don’t have the money for a vacation this year? Escape to the brave new world of Terrax, where your first mistake could be your last!

Diane Tegarden’s newest release “Anti-Vigilante and The Rips in Time” is a science fiction novel set in the distant future with its hooks deep into renewable energy, which changes the face of the planet.

Here is a synopsis of the book…..
“Terrax, the Crystal Planet, is an exacting world. A place where human physical contact is impossible and stepping outside is virtual suicide. The atmosphere is a hurricane of Coriolis winds and deadly scattershowers, composed of toxic metals formed into whip-like threads kilometers long. Immense Ocean Domes cover over the toxic sludge where the oceans used to be, and the surface of Terrax is covered in crystalline structures, called the Hives, where only the upper crust lives. No one can survive the raw elements; all must reside inside buildings, vicariously living through virtual reality programming.

To believe the tales of “Olde Earth”, a place where clean water flowed from the sky, where the outdoor air was breathable and edible food grew out of the ground? These were no more than nestling’s stories, ancient mythology from a distant Time.

Until the Rips in Time occurred...…
What happens next changes Terrax forever.”

Looks like we're all keeping busy! I'm finishing a screenplay of my latest novel Dear Harmony and have occasional book signings. Warm weather keeps one busy and leaves less time for writing, too many demands on one's time. I try to keep my website up to date and I've added some pages. nelmajeanbryson.com. Best Wishes to all and now it's back to work!

Citiria is about to bring out a new novella, "Alien Seeding" by Perry Difiore. It's a classic revenge-love triangle story with the twist that the protagonist is abducted by aliens and given special powers to attract women. Cross-genre, so hard to categorise.

Right now I am waiting for the proof readers to get back to me so I can finish the typesetting. I'm also waiting for the final artwork having just approved the nearly-finished colour art. The cover is going to look great! Of course I will still have the fontwork, rear cover and spine to lay out. Probably we're looking at a release date around August-September.

I participated in a book signing at a dog show last month. This month I'm off to teach at Kutztown University (annual trek to PA). I was interviewed for a podcast today and have another coming up next week. Praying for another book contract (fingers and toes are crossed!). I'm also venturing a bit afield by request of a couple of members of a professional group of which I'm a member. I will be giving 2 teleseminars this month. Each is an hour long. One is to raise your visibility by writing for local newspapers, newsletters and I'll cover books as well. The second is how to use Social Networking sites (specifically Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn) to raise your visibility and increase business/sales. That should be interesting. I've specifically kept the price low because this economy is nasty! Participants will be able to put the information to work as soon as they hang up the phone :-)

My last novel in the "god-Princes of Tigron" series (of three), Knight's Fork, came out in October 2008, and since then, I've been wrestling with potential heroes and villains for the spin-off series provisionally titled "The Daughters of Demetra".

Anyone interested in Knight's Fork could check out the blurb and cover at:

The book I'm much more interested in promoting is Insufficient Mating Material, which is a chess term for an impossible-to-win situation. It's the central book in the series, and I may not have done the best job with the first scene (I wrongly assumed that everyone who read it would have already read Forced Mate). However, I feel that Insufficient Mating Material is my best work.

I'd really appreciate votes for the blurb, title, and cover art... just what is on the contest page.

When I'm not working on my own series, I participate in a number of teaching blogs, including 1stTurningPoint and Alien Romances, I'm active with the IWOFA group (Infinite Worlds Of Fantasy Authors), and also with various groups who are fed up with piratical "file sharing" of our copyrighted works, one group is the copyrightalliance.org (free to join).

Have a great summer, and --Daffodil56-- thanks for asking!

I have for novels that I have been working on "just for grins" meaning for my personal enjoyment and not official publication. They have to do with mystery and suspense, a dab of the supernatural, and love.

I actually mean four and NOT for. Two of the novels have to do with very controlling guardians who stop at nothing ... even reaching beyond the "after-life" to influence those they "love."
