In the Music - July 2

Good Morning SML-ers (well not sure that is a good way to put that). No a lot for July 2 over the years, but July 2, 1988, was a banner year for Michael Jackson. Five #1 singles from one album - phenomenal!!! ( see first reply)

July 2, 1988 Michael Jackson became the first artist to have five number one singles from one album when "Dirty Diana" went to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Thanks for the Michael Jackson flashback. At one time, he was quite the entertainer.
My daughter is 34 and grew up in the Thriller, Billy Jean, Moonwalk era of him. She used to have his posters all over her room as well as the Michael doll and all his records.
The night he died, she was at work and all these young people couldn't understand why she was upset about it. She told them, "When he was black, he was the man." She said he didn't get weird until he turned white. Sort of true. So sad.

I am not sure if there has been other artist to have five hits all at the same time from the same album...pretty spectacular.
