Recent Stupid things I have done

For those of you who know me, keep in mind I said recent so you can save the never ending list, besides, there are more than even you are aware.

{Stupid 1} I just again completed a Real Estate course in pursuit of a license. I have done this once before but it was on the heels of my separation and I don’t recall a sober moment but I do recall failing miserably as the test you take to take the state test is unbelievably hard even for those that understand it.
To shorten this part. I passed the test and am eligible for the state test and the stupid part is I have no intention at this time to pursue this venue as it is expensive to start and money, though good when it comes, is not about to be enough to sustain my lavish lifestyle.
{Stupid 2} I had recently purchased a Blackberry Storm cell phone thingamajiggy. (I saw it advertised on eons) I got frustrated with it rather quickly as I am challenged when it comes to technology but I thought I would learn it, after all, I am not that old, I don’t think. Needless to say, one of the little known factoids about me is that I am EXTREMELY impatient. I am sure that is hard for many of you to believe but alas, tis true.
After several fights with the new and innovative touch screen that does not, as I had hoped, accommodate fat fingers I decided to give it up and try the other one advertised on eons. The Fabulous Samsung Omnia. Boy, am I a genius. I have had it for just about 2 weeks now and just 3 days ago I finally learned how to access the call log and see what I missed (only took an hour to delete the list)
If I must say something good about it and I must or I would be a total idiot for keeping it. (Save the banter on that one) I do not have the fat finger syndrome with it as it comes with a VERY pointy stylus.

Give me 1 more week and I will lose that too.

Kayakbutt....I do stupid things every day. Today I smashed into a door at a restaurant that I thought was open. I have a sense of humor surrounding all the stupid things that I do. I think the important thing here is that you are not afraid to try something new. A lot of people our age will not. And I also think that you are still not afraid to use the word thingamajiggy.

I just love these inspiring, uplifting posts. I always feel ever so much better about myself.

All kidding aside, I agree with drivers. We need to try new stuff if only for its comedic value. There are times when I am gadget resistant..whether phones or iPods or whatever. I always break down, though, and refuse to be intimidated. Laughing at myself is good, and I do plenty of that.

I never laugh at myself (smirk). I just don't go there. I pods I have no time for. Anything that requires touch/tone/tabulation is off limits to my neanderthal hands. I may as well wear boxing gloves into a Sony shop as buy one of their products.

McButt-the "pointy thing" is easily replaced...in fact I suggest buying a dozen right now and hiding them all over your house and car. In a pinch you can use the little plastic pencil that comes with those kids "magic screens".
Being a bit stubborn helps when confronted with new technology. I may lose sleep but I never admit defeat. Just this week I got my wireless network up and running...not that a place this small needs one but...hey why not? ;-) When the kids visit we can all sit here with our wireless devices on our laps and communicate with people who are miles and miles away. It gives us other people to bug.

I have no problem with technology...it's the simple things I have yet to master...like drivers, I have walked into doors...one time at work..right into a glass door..with a colleague...so, Jer, pat yourself on the back for giving new technology a chance...the patience thigamajiggy...well, that will not change

I am impressed that you try new things! I don't even attempt to try to learn some of these new techno toys...I have a fool proof cell phone that I just recently learned had a camera. I had to call my daughter to find out how to get the picture out of there on to my computer and while she was explaining it I told her to forget it...I'd just show people pictures off my phone!!

I am absolutely burned to a crisp in my job and want desperately to do something different. So far I've been to fearful to try.

Not sure how you can think you are being stupid....I give you kudos for trying!! BTW, Real Estate will pick up again....

I've always been called a techno geek but there are certain things I just choose not to try, like IMacs and IPods. Just not into Aplle products. I did just get a Blackberry Bold after saying I'd never own a Blackberry. I'm still getting use to it. jg, I also have setup my house for wireless. Now I can sit out on my deck and use my laptop or Blackberry.
