help

I've been a member of eons for about a year but haven't figured out how to post onto the main flow, maybe it's a chatroom for the group (FMS)I don't know having never been in a chat room. Anyway, I'd like to participate more if only I knew how:<( catzms
P.S. Thanks for helping.

Hi cat!

This is a good place to get started. Since you are looking to participate more, you might want to join this month's newcomer group (July 09 Newcomers) view link I don't know if there are any plans for a scavenger hunt but some months there is and it helps you to learn how to navigate eons and get to meet lots of new people. From the eons team postings our search engines should be working better so you could go on over to the general tab of groups and just try searching for the types of topics you are interested in. This is the only group that you don't have to join to post in. All the others you have to be a member to reply; but, that doesn't mean you can't drop in and read. I did that with one group for almost a year before I joined.

Welcome, have fun and go out there and make new friends.

I am a member of the FMS group but I haven' figured out how to post in when acouple of people are chatting. I have been reading off and on for quite some time.
I will join the Newcomers group; I wasn't sure it was appropriate since I signed up long ago. Thanks

catzms...when you see an ongoing message in your group, such as a couple of people chatting, all you have to do is click on the "reply" link or button. Basically, just as you did when you replied to this message.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Then you can do a refresh or reload to the page to see anything that has been added including your reply. If you don't do that, it doesn't appear that anything has been added after your response.
You can do the refresh or reload several ways. Either from your browser's drop down menu, usually under "View". I use Firefox as a browser, so I see "reload". Just click on that.
Or there is a circular arrow that usually means reload current page:
Photobucket
Click on that and it will refresh the page to include any additions if some were added.

You can also do a right click of your mouse and you should see either "reload" or "refresh". After you see that you can then scroll down with the mouse pointer and do a left click.

On most computers you can also do a Ctrl+R and get the same results.

That's how you can keep up on all responses in an ongoing message. Just jump in and start participating. Once you start, you will see how easy it is.
