4 me it works better on Nina than the old way and does.
Thanks. I still want to try them. Even when Sadie's nails are cut, they are rough and hurt your legs.
I have to do one or two nails at a time and then give TQ a break. I think the noise scares him. It does file them so that they are smooth and not rough. Sometimes it takes me a couple of days to do all of them. To me it's better than those nail clippers, those scare me...
When I bought mine, the guy at the store said it was really important to follow the directions about how to introduce the PediPaw to your dog. I did, and some of them tolerate it better than others. I still use the clipper, but follow up with the PediPaws to take off a little more and smooth the edges. Works pretty good for me.
My dogs definitely like the pedipaws better than the clippers but it does take a bit longer to do the nails. I usually just do a couple at a time. Nellie totally freaks at the clippers.
TQ freaks at the clippers too. All I have to do is put his nail in it and just start putting pressure on his nail, and he yelps as if I cut off his toe. I get too nervous so I don't do it anymore. He tolerates the Pedipaws much better.
Marjorie, when I take TQ to Petco to have his nails trimmed, that's what the groomers do...use the clippers, then file them down with the Pedipaws.
Thanks all! Sadie doesn't mind the clippers at all, but I'm afraid I'll get them too close. I'm going to find the Pedipaws and give it a try. Sadie loves the hairdryer, so maybe the noise of the Pedipaws won't bother her.
Aha, hairdryers! That could be a topic for another discussion!
The PediPaws really don't make much noise, hardly any. But it does cause a bit of vibration on the dog's nails and I think that's what they have to get used to.
Ya, GG- hairdryers- yikes! That IS a whole new discussion!
