I have found when I click on Search to find

a member....it also list under that person every post and they posted or responded to...is this intentional by Eons?

Me too ~ I don't think this is what we want! Every single post is listed!

The search function was just changed. There is a bar with tabs showing different choices located just above the search results. The default is "All Results". If you click on "People", you will get their profile. I presume that is what you were looking for in your search.

Thanks WillitsGal!

If you want to just search for people, you can also go to the "People" drop down and select "Search People". This will make the results that are returned members (not content).

The idea of every post or comment one made in any group listed under that person when you click on them in Search, particularly myself, is a bit off-putting....would like to see this removed. I can not adjust in my Privacy Settings..so it has to be Eons...

An important point: Search results are customized for *you*. Unless everything you've done on Eons is public, your search results - when searching for your own screen name - will contain items that only some people are able to see. Try doing the search after logging out - perhaps you'll see what I mean.

For group messages (and photos and videos and blogs), your screen name is associated with the message and a search on your screen name will return the message. However, only people who have permission to see the item are able to find it. For example, in a private group, only the current members of the private group can see any of the group's messages in the search results.

Currently, when saving a group message in the search index (contrary to kame2C's fear), we do not save the screen name of everyone who has *replied* to the message - we only save the message's author.

This functionality has always been available -- though, admittedly, it didn't used to work as well :-)
