Seeking the Truth?
Well, I hear and read about the importance of "Seeking" the truth.
What's wrong with someone that has never been taught to seek out the truth? Why do we need to seek the truth?
I like seeking out information on different topics. I can read information, ask questions, take notes, copy and paste, et. al. I can obtain information, and enjoy such.
However, what is important about Truth, that One needs to seek it? If I didn't find it, am I screwed?
I can see a simple truth. Seeking and searching for simple truths. However, is there one ABSOLUTE TRUTH? Is this the truth, we are all talking about?
How would One go about seeking an Absolute truth? Is an absolute truth, same as a "spiritual" truth?
Any One know what the Truth, I need to be seeking, ....is?
Thanks for some truthful replies,
Roger
We are speaking of the Universal Truth, God's Truth.
Some of us are anxious to evolve and perfect our souls at an accelerated rate so to go on to other journeys wherever God's sends us.
It is not necessary. The fact that you choose to come down to Earth means you are a strong soul. Everyone has their own chart to follow. You are doing what you need to do. I am doing what I need to do, and so on.
The "Truth" is where you find it!

Interesting question, Roger. First, you use the word "seek" rather than "learn". I also wonder if "truth", or even "absolute truth" are really just words that have come into being because of the ego need to be right? You also use another word in a particular way...One.
I have read books about spiritual events, and have been fortunate to read them after I experience something so I don't get suspicious about them influencing my experience. There is a difference from reading a description of something, and experiencing it. I can know some aspects of the topic intellectually, but experiences I have had in contemplation leaves me with knowledge of things that I see have gone beyond the intellectual understanding I had previously.
Things that were called "mysteries" to many learned people, became incredibly simple, leaving no doubt. Rather, I would respond inwardly with "Oh! I see". Then, the awe hits and knocks your socks off. If I try to explain the experience to someone else, I get a blank stare. Keeps you humble, because you sense they think you are nuts. LOL
How many bits and pieces of "knowledge" are flying around? Is it progressive? Does anyone have "absolute truth", or part of a great reality we are moving toward? Are there many roads that come to a merging point? Or are there many different realities?
Within my own belief, I look at the fact I am here, so I know I'm not there yet. I am on my way. At the present, I am one, on my way to becoming One. I am becoming! After that.... ;-)
I don't generally speak of truth because it is just a word that facilitates useless arguments. I think we all have something inspiring questions in us, and we respond by seeking to learn. Who knows what is inspiring your particular journey, or mine.
The criteria I use for myself is to ask if what I am buying into is helping me to be a better person, to have an interior peace, be more loving, and are my actions those of love. If not, I have to ask why, and I need to question if the teaching is all about love, or something that divides. This crosses over into many areas of everyday life, not just in a spiritual context.
Truth appears to each person in a unique and personal way. No two people are the same. It isn't so much WHERE you are or the goal, but the journey, and different bits of knowledge you pick up along the way. It's about your perspective and how it changes with each experience. A person may live by the golden rule, and seem to know what is really important in life, and have respect for his fellow man. But, enduring pain, heartaches and struggles, or the death of loved one comes along, and that's when he may start feeling a true compassion for others and seeing things that he never noticed before, which were always there. He may notice the beauty in the world, or perhaps, learn to be more trusting and look for the good in humanity. He may become more concerned and helpful, or just more appreciative. It isn't some ancient secret. It is merely living life, without blinders on. Feeling emotions. Not running from the experience. Thinking about others. Seeing other perspectives. Being present, in the moment.
To me there are two ways of describing truth:
THE truth - I don't think any of us here now are willing nor capable of being that truth. It is not something you learn, it is something you are. Many are willing to be a small portion of THE truth but are unwilling to let go of control to be truth totally; there is no longer an individual, there is only Namaste.
The truth of the moment - these truths are individual, change constantly as we change and may or may not contain bits of THE truth. It is like the 5 blind men trying to describe an elephant that they have encountered or heard about for the first time. Each persons truth will depend on what part of the elephant they touch or become aware of.

Thanks for the above replies, much interesting stuff. Stuff is a word, we Ford pickup truck drivers from Texas like to use.
The "seeking" comes from readings and possible training exercises. How would I know to seek the truth, without external influences? With that said, if "seeking the truth" is extremely important, then the "Truth" should be extremely important too. So, if I am seeking this truth, I want to seek out the "ultra high quality -- best of the best" of Truths.
Hopefully, I will not find a Truth that is second-hand, used, and one with a lot of mileage on it.
I wonder, is there a Truth that is unteachable, unexperienceable, unconceptual and beyond brain consciousness awareness?
Hi ! Roger. This is very interesting."The Truth that is second hand, used and one with a lot of mileage on it",makes me smile. I think you are an extremely Spiritual person, full of humour.
Your posts are very interesting. Thanks.
In my humble opinion, i think i totally agree with riverofmylife. Very well said.I think everyone in this group is extremely Spiritual. I am happy to be a part of this beautiful family.
Happy 4th of July, everyone.
May Peace and Blessings be upon you all.
...i would say that truth...with a little t doesn't always stay the same. Life changes as truth ( for yourself) changes. I also beleive that the yearning -seeking- comes from with in -internal-. Which if sincere leads you to external signs, such as people, books and sitting( meditation) and music. Do you believe you are spiritual?
In point of fact, Roger, I think you hit that nail square on the head, and drove it home with your question word, "unteachable". I believe each person's truth to be just that, 'Unteachable'! For, to be able to comprehend it, one would have to experience it for themself. And, since that is impossible, since all experience is completely personal, it simply can't be taught. One can try to describe it, but something will always be lost, and thus, the end result will be different, and can never be reproduced!
As for the other descriptive words used. If it can be imagined, and EVERYTHING, and ANYTHING, can be, those words become meaningless. At least to me, they do.
Namaste
Roger my friend you are really naughty.
Yes. Naughty thoughts always leads you
to truth. Like naughty thoughts leads
you to find the real beauty. Again the
naughty thoughts leads the seeker to the
God.
Truth, God and Beauty. All the three
each one of us experience. And it is
nothing but that. Everything else is
not that. That alone is Truth,God and
Beauty.
Again its neither Absolute nor Obsolute.
It is just that and that and that and
that alone.
I am sure your naughty questions would
certainly leads you to the Truth.
