upgrading skills

Hi,

Are there any free resources (prizes, grants, scholarships) to help a person just turning 50 to get some money for graduate school? I would like to take a one year masters program to train and write training programs. Most of the programs I did find deadlines have passed. I went to the library and Foundation center.I want to know if anyone has personally received or know of someone who actually received assistance. Yesterday I read that some states unemployment is higher than the national average. I am in Georgia. Thanks.
Possibly. Check with your unemployment office. There is cash the government give counties each year and the year started in July. I'm pretty positive it's countrywide and not just in Illinois. There are some requirements you have to meet though. One of them is having been let go fro a job in the past 2 years. Either way, can't hurt to ask.
