Philly is a couple of hours up 95 so if i can get away I'll probably go. The reality show on how crazy parking is there and the fines has me concerned. I hope ther is ample parking in and around the main conference. I'll be doing day runs to the show.
Could you park and take a bus?
If that's an alternative, once the logistics ofthe show are laid out I'll check into it.
I live about an hour and a half north of Philly and I will try to get there. I would either try to get a bus ride from my area, or else I would drive to an area near Philly to take a bus from there. It looks like it will be held in the Pennsylvania Convention Center, in center city Philly. Right across the street is the Reading Terminal Market, which has lots and lots of food vendors of every imaginable type and variety. There is a hotel attached to the convention center.
I will be interested to see the various events surrounding the conference as well.
I looked at the NCECA show site and it looks like parking is going to be a majorly expensive headache! This is going to take some researching. I guess this area is like NYC....public transportation looks necessary.
I hope i can make it..it all depends on money...doesn't every thing?
I would absolutely love to go for just meeting y'all. Unfortunately, we might have to move my SO's 16 year old daughter down here before school starts in late August - talk about crazy - I might be certifiable by October!!!
Gee Peg....I thought you were 'certifiable' now....like MOI!!!! LOL!
If you want to stay at ground zero...Marriott....then you best book it now. NCECA rates are usually gone by mid-fall.
I know some people who are looking on the outskirts of Philly locating motels near public transportation. I have also been told that public transportation at night is not always safe. However if I was a harm-doer and saw 3 crazy potter people on the train, I would be smart not to mess with them! Safety in numbers!!!
OH how I would love to attend, It sounds like accommodations and transportation will be either costly or difficult. If a group of us were to try and find someplace to stay so we could travel in a "potters pack" that would be safer and fun!
Carole, you are right, I have been "certifiable" ever since I have tried and failed working with clay - opened the kiln today after a bisque firing - some Christmas and some Halloween - always a surprise AND a learning experience.
If any of y'all meet up, let us know and pictures, pictures, pictures!!!
