I have always loved seeing that line by those who fear the worst use the line of GOD + GUNS = PATRIOT line of thought.
The ones who have served our country "Honorably" also know full well the vow made when they entered the Military Service to be of service and as their own Patriotic duty not to uphold God or Deity but to uphold our Constitution of the United States. Most who believe that line of God plus Guns equal a patriot is on a misguided mission to of their own twisted value of what they think is just and right, which happens to be so totally wrong it is unbelievable the lengths that they would go to.
The US is not a police state, no matter what side of the gun control issue you are on the reasons to own any type of weaponry for fear of the government changes every four years for better or worse. We came the closest I can every recall to the US becoming a police state is with the coke-head in office between 2000 and 2008. His misguided ideals of what is a terrorist and what are ordinary harmless citizens for the most part was so askewed that everyone in the US who spoke out against the government must be a terrorist disguised as an American.
Those 8 years many people were jailed if for no other reason than fear between September 2001 and October 2006 when most of Junior's dealings were starting to come to hit the light of day. Most of the crap now put out is from a lot of very pissed Republicans who only think of themselves first, then God and Country. Anything that they can and will do to bring out the innermost fears of many people are showing since this last election in 2008.
What the press had obviously overlooked the last huge gun buying spree occurred in late 2001 into mid 2002 after the World Trade Center was taken down by two aircraft taken over by terrorists in a very well planned and organized fashion never seen before or since. Not to mention the other two that were hijacked as well, only one did not make it to its intended target which is believed to have been the White House.
I can still recall quite vividly watching television with a live feed going the second plane slamming into the World Trade Center, and thinking man that was some piss-poor special effects happening there only to fully realize that when I got to work that day getting the rest of the day as well as the next day off with pay because of what happened while I watched it live.
I own two rifles and a shotgun which I actually inherited from my father who loved guns, I already owned a .45 semi-automatic pistol, with my military training I could very easily give it the touches to make it into an automatic weapon very easily. I gave one of the rifles away to a person who treated me very well which I recovered from open-heart surgery the other is a .270 with a scope along with a 12 gauge shotgun which could easily be sawed off to make it a very dangerous weapon. I have all three put up and only when I clean the area I even touch them.
I know what kind of damage weaponry can do to the human body, if you have witnessed it first hand, especially the automatic type weapons you would not be so eager to run out and buy things like that because owning one makes you a so-called "Patriot", for it only make you look more like a fool who spent way too much on something that you really have no idea how to control or even use properly. Most cases it makes you someone who will either shoot your self go to the hospital looking like an idiot or worse wind up dead on the floor. Already too many people have something that they have no idea just what they have or can actually do.
It is one thing shooting an animal, it is entirely something else shooting another human when you should not have feared in the first place. Just talk to any Veteran who has lived in one of those "Hot Zones" on where they would have rather been at that time and place and you will find a vast majority would tell you back home where it is safe.
All that I can say about one particular individual your logic is completely wrong in what you are thinking about weaponry. To own and actually know how to properly use it are two entirely separate matters. I love your Germany analogy, if you have lived as many places as you claim, then you would know both England and Canada has tougher gun laws than what Germany ever could lay claim to having. With England it is illegal to actually own a gun, and if you look at the street cop or Bobbie over there you would notice that most do not even wear a pistol, it is reserved for those whose job actually requires the need to carry one.

JB you are correct with that assumptions about the character, there is not enough to even hold a decent conversation with with the twisting of words and using old, tired and very trite excuses that tend to get very old fairly fast.

His claims never do match up with what or whom it actually may be. I may well be dyslexic but I also fought to over come that handicap to actually write well and to prove a point to no nuts.
He actually needs to go back to Junior High School to relearn what a Communist state actually is, for there is no private ownership, you are furnished everything by the state. You have no freedoms, and if he is as well traveled as his claims then he would wind up living in a country tolerant of his cries of being misunderstood all the time. Not in here or other groups which he or she or it has worn out the welcome it had.
That one person has no clue in how to even discuss topics with out going so far off in left-right field that all that person wants and is begging and crying for is attention. Once that attention is stopped given to it, that person finally shuts up. As I told him once "Homey don't play your games anymore" got him to realize something. You know JB, I do not believe that I actually lowered myself to your type of thinking, of even daring to compare myself to alex is a sham to say the least of things that could be said.
How dare you even go to that point without telling the difference in whom you are talking toward. If you can not, then it is time that maybe you should leave well enough alone while you still do not have a shred of decency to walk with. Everything you have said has come undone by even a comparison in which you so blatantly used.
A few weeks back you were an entirely different person, and now you tend to show you are no better than the person you are making a feeble attempt to compare with. There is nothing that can even come about dropping myself to your level of chatter, and I am sure that the previous posts will be gone once Angel comes online and see what has been said tonight. I was ruled by the blatant name calling that I swore to keep myself from yet fallen prey to someone whom I suspect has put a few under the belt tonight.
If you have the slightest idea that the person is one in the same, then I can not even feel sorry for your attitude what so ever and you should have left well enough alone. I have no idea why you would even dare to make such an assumption as being the same person nor why you can not even see a difference, but it is sad that you dropped yourself and stayed there where reason escapes what ever ideas you once held.
I am certain that both may hear from our fearless leader about the rant that just happened and I do not blame her one bit. For I came back to the group to get that kind of insult does not make for any type of decent conversation what so ever at all. I was asked why I left the first time, I thought and believed I needed a bit of a break to pay attention to my other groups which I happen to own. I came back to be insulted like this the first night gets me to even question why I came back at all. One of the things that I did not care about was an attitude that one person so aptly shown, but to receive this type of treatment the first night back gets me to really question why come back at all when I get this type of attitude from another member who joined the group with the understanding of respecting others which is not even shown by your last two-three comments.
With that I shall bid my goodbye once more for I did not come back to endue this type of attitude from others within the group. Sorry Angel, but one fool is enough to ignore but to come back to something like this and to loose my own composure is not worth coming back to again.
