Hello!

I saw a commercial on TV last night about eons.com and thought I'd check it out. Back in the 60s I was a Folkie - played acoustic guitar & sang in a few groups. More recently, I served as V.P. of the Northeast Blues Society for 10+ years. We planned and promoted Blues bands & events in the upstate NY, VT and MA area. At the end of 2005, I "retired" from my position (which was volunteer) but I still attend the events and keep in touch with all the musicians, etc.
This looks like an interesting group & I'd love to hear from anyone.
Happy Holidays to you & yours.

My name is Larry-I started this group because i think that those of us over 50 are
under-appreciated.So many great artists, writers, actors, musicians, etc. have so much to give and so much to say.I believe that many of us feel that there is a statement we still need to make.

When we are not successful at communicating to the world who we are,or when we are judged by our looks and our age, music is one of those things that speaks to everyone.Ive made so many friends because of music, and in a bittersweet way im glad.It does bother me that i wouldnt have gotten a second look or
conversation,had i not been a musician.

In some ways music has been a vehicle by which ive been able to tell people that i am a good person-that im kind and generous
compassionate and funny.

As always i welcome your replies.and comments.PLease visit my website at www.larrywimmer.com

thanks,God bless and have a great Holiday

Larry

Actually, being involved in a Blues Society, most of the musicians and others involved were in the 40 & 50+ yr. old range. So it's not surprising to me at all that there are so many older musicians still out there gigging. Like fine wine, we improve with age!
