Poverty in Aboriginal Communities

I know it exists, but only from reading about it -- and it stirs a lot of passion here.

There is little doubt there is absolute poverty in Australia especially in Aboriginal communities. There are racists in Australia that treat Aborigines much like racists in America discriminate against American Indians in America. Many on the conservative right of Australian politics argue that it is a mistake to include Aboriginal Communities because it hides the existence of absolute poverty in Australia by looking only at those who, for whatever reason, earn relatively little.

Since 1990 the majority of those living in poverty are becoming more numerous. However, those in the bottom 5% of income earners in Australia have in fact become poorer over the past decade.

Poverty in Australia today is absolute.
Is work the cure? How about the willingness to go anywhere to find it?
