I suspect he was abused as a child. I know his father used to tell him he had a big ugly nose which explains the nose plastic surgery stuff. And haven't most child molesters been molested themselves as children? Abused and looking for love in the wrong places, I think.
I think you might be right, and abused children have a void when it comes to self-esteem.
I agree! A sad commentary on how much vulgarity seems to pay off!
I wish the media didn't have to make such a fuss over him. He may have been a great musician and entertainer (until the vulgarity and weirdness set in), but does that mean he is worth this sudden heart warming love fest?
I have to agree with you Neelix. Sometimes they really do go overboard. And this is one of these times!
I'm sick of all the media attention. Every channel has another special on him.
Why idolize the weird and sickos( as in very likely child molester)? I just don't get it.
I was also disgusted by the crotch grabbing. Was that Michael's idea or did his promoters suggest that he do that? We don't know. All I know is that many performers have decided that crotch grabbing is "the" thing to do. I hate it and I will not watch music videos any more.

Thank you. Your message expresses my sentiments exactly. I don't know what happened to him after being a child prodigy in the Jackson Five, but it must have been bad.
I suspect he had been addicted to drugs for a long long time. He was abused as a child - perhaps even castrated to keep his voice high. I don't know. Then he became obsessed with changing his appearance - perhaps becoming addicted to pain killers when he had all that plastic surgery. Those kinds of drugs affect the way a person thinks and he was already a very troubled person. Like Elvis, everybody around him just went along with what he wanted and enabled his drug abuse and deviant behavior. It is a slippery slope that could have been turned around with treatment and counseling etc. But, it didn't happen. It really is a tragedy - he was very talented musically. All we can hope for is that others will learn from his mistakes.
Maybe we should just send out love instead of all these hurtful accusations...we don't know the Jackson family personally...I don't....let God be the judge.....we,ourselves are not worthy to make these statements......So he grabbed his crouch...you don't have to watch....
I guess I'm just laid back and non judgmental...It was his life...he had demons to deal with...we should all be understanding and not hurtful in our words....
