The Summer that Isn't

Today is June 26 . It looks like rain again today . we have had rain 22 of 26 days so far in June , with fog taking care of the 4 days that rain missed . Our temperature has ranged from about 50 to a high of 70 . We live on the beach and have not had a single beach day all month .

Same here Dirck....leave your beach at home and enjoy my Lake Michigan beach though. We're getting plenty of 90 degree weather..and like Sweet, high humidity.

Lack of humidity is never a problem here, even when it isn't raining . Typical summer day is 85-90 degrees with 90% humidity .

I live at the beach too and at times would like to have a week at least of warm summer days. Seems like it would be nice--and not much to ask for! We have had a long wet spring, now looks like we will have the same kind of summer SIGH but sure glad we don't live where it's in the 80's and 90's with hi humidity. THAT is why we live at the beach and gripe about no sunshine!!!

We suffered from "June Gloom" the first half of June here in SoCal, but that seems to be gone now. Summer is kicking in, altho we usually don't get the hot weather until about 4th of July weekend. I bitched about the gloomy days (wreaks havoc with my tomatoes); now I'm gearing up to bitch about the hot ones. Humidity, I'm happy to say, is rarely a problem here. Not suprising, since we are so close to the desert.

Here in central Texas, we are in the middle of a severe drought and our summer started in April! Triple digits (normally a late July/August thing) began in May. It WAS 2 or 3 days at a time. We have NOW had 2 weeks of consecutive over 100 degree days with heat indices from 108 to 116 with no relief in sight.
