Ciao a tutti da New York!

I have traveled fairly extensively in Italy over the past 12 years, including a summer spent in Perugia, Italy, studying Italian at the University. I would be happy to answer any questions anyone might have about getting around in Italy, favorite spots/must sees and just chatting about one of my favorite places on earth!

What's your favorite part of Italy? I know I'd have a hard time answering that question since I've enjoyed every place I've visited.

I've been to Bella Italia five times and have driven all over from Trento in the north to Palermo in Sicilia and have literally thousands of digital photos plus a collection of professionally done Powerpoint travelogues of Italian scenes if anyone is interested.

It's so hard to pick a favorite part of Italy - but I do love the Veneto region - especially Verona, where I have a good friend. Have sailed on Lago di Guarda and it was beautiful. The little village of Gubbio in Umbria is also a gem. I have yet to visit the islands - but hope to get there soon.

I was suppose to study the culture in Perugia at the university and decided not to go because my daughter was having a difficult pregnancy at the time. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get back quick enough if something happened to her or my grandchild. so when I graduated I went to Florence for 2 weeks. I loved it but I desire to see so much more of Italy.
I would also love to speak the Language along with Portuguese and Spanish! Better get started!

Hi Susan,

I've never been to Italy but am planning an extensive trip there next year. Of course, I want to visit Rome, Florence etc but I would like to rent an apartment for a month somewhere on the ocean. Do you have any recommendations for me? Thanks for your help.
