Cave of Giant Gypsum Crystals

Some of these crystals are bigger than your house!

...................I have been waiting my whole life to do something like this. I hope I may encounter something like it before I finish my life. I have explored many old mines here in the west, which is considered both very dangerous and stupid. But taking risks is what exploration and discovery are about. In the years I had a growing family and raised my kids, I found it my responcibility to not take unreasonable risks anymore, but now as a grandfather and widower I am not so sure, and wish to do things I have put off for 36 years. Especially now that I can afford it, and no one will miss me I think. I believe my new lady will like to do these things within reason.......

..................I want to check out the great mines and volcanoes of the world.............

.................I want to dive and see sunken wrecks in the great lakes and oceans of the world............

.................I want to see and walk around and touch the ruins of histories great former civilizations..............

Sounds like you have the same "bucket list" as do I, Erik! lol

The giant gypsum crystals are no longer available for viewing. Having drain the water from the mine where the crystals were thus exposed had put them in danger. Consequently, when the scientists were finished with their analyzes, in order to preserve the giant crystals, the cave was re-flooded with the same groundwater that had created them in the first place. Fortunately, NatGeo has a lot of footage and photos in its archive so that all of us may enjoy their beauty without putting the giant crystal in danger.
