I too am accustomed to being alone. When I find myself lonely, I call a girlfriend and we do something...chances are she's feeling lonely too....
I am content with life, and not having a life partner is fine, because the greater plan is what it is, and while we wait for "that special person" we have to find joy in other things besides having a significant other...
I find happiness and joy in so many things...my pets, my home, my garden, music, friends, eons of course, my career, my hobbies and activities...oh so much to be grateful for.
Be careful when you wish your life away because you are alone.....you just might lose it...
Lonely? What's that? I've not experienced that yet. Too many kids and grands around all the time. I wish I was alone allot more than I get. Kids spend the night with big sister so I went out to sushi by myself but not alone. Watched a little tv, read a little, tried on some clothes given to me. Though I did have 2 dogs, 2 cats and kitten with me the whole time.
I enjoy my lone time, it is so rare.
I can't think of anything I won't do alone. Although I don't usually go to the movies alone. But then I don't go to the movies very often, mostly because the movies just don't interest me. Better to wait till they are out on DVD and watch them in the comfort of my own home.
I have gone out dancing alone, to dinner alone, parties and functons alone, even weddings alone (not my own obviously - well almost LOL). And had a wonderful time doing all of those things. It is a wonderful way to meet people and build your confidence in yourself. Like Mizvic, I try to find joy in everything and am really greatful for all that I have. Every now and then, not all the time, just once in a while, when one of those joyful moments occurs, when the sun is shining and the birds are singing and I realize how wonderful life really is....this ache starts in my chest and I wish I had a S/O with whom to share ... I am not counting it out, but I neither am I counting on it.
Sure tag...there is a void inside at times....one of wanting someone who cares to share things with...but it is not overwhelming for me as it is for some.....
Dear Miz V How good to meet up here...! no I have not found a special someone but I have grown up a bit and think I may be ready now and not run away when a man shows up at the door.
My career is wonderful, I am lucky to be doing well in such a bad economy...I am experiencing my slow season at work and have decided to make time to return to this place that we both found so many good friends...

Tag...I think what we have is an inner peace....something that is not easy to find, and I must say I am grateful that being alone doesn't make me sad, I do not want to pine for someone who isn't there....
Most of the time I don't pine either, Mizvic. I perfer to have some fun looking!
