Modern Mythology

I have been thinking what might be some modern myths that have the possibility of being passed down from generation to generation?

Anyone who uses their brain, follows their intellect, wants to pursue something intelligent, is accepted and rewarded.

In te 1990’s America fought for democracy across the continents

; Walter Chronkit. Ws the most trusted person in the world
The race problem was solved in America by the passing of the 1985 civil rights act

.The world War 2 generation was the greatest

The 1990’s were an era of greed

The President is the Commander in Chief.
It was the governments fault that General Motors failed

you think any of these might make the myth category?

The most pervasive myth of the 20th Century was that we were all alone, that for all our hopes and dreams, Earth was all we had and all we would ever have. So, with a brave face, we proclaimed our wonderful future to be Planet Earth.

The biggest myth of the last 50 years is that our government has any regard whatsoever for the well-being of the typical American citizen .

Did I miss something, Yichel? Did Art. II of the Constitution change so that the President is no longer the Commander-in-Chief? Or was that meant to be tongue-in-cheek somehow?

Myth: Government is not needed to regulate the financial markets.

Celtic , alternative myth=== the government was not already regulating financial markets and was not largely responsible for the recent melt-down .

That the industrial revolution was a step forward for man. It definitely was a step forward for business, but in a social sense it was a step backward for man. Man wasn't thriving in the feudal system, no, but man thrives best with less mechanization and more social interaction such as in a tribal system. Of course that depends on your definition of thriving too.

a erply to previous post:
Can you imagine living in a time where your work was prescribed. Very few and only the truly achieving types broke away from their status. yet when things were goingg well. thee was 100% protection. enough food to eat, you knew everyone in the village or town by first name or married into the family two weeks out of the year you had to work for the lord who owned all the lands who also took rents from what youu grew or made?
There was als something very mystical during the fuedal perid maybe only felt by those who did not have to live through it.
social "sense it was a step backward for man. Man wasn't thriving in the feudal system this is no." exactly true.

One other one: Bush (43) is responsible for all the evil in the world.....and America is the great satan.....

Time to move past that one and call it a modern myth.....

Anyone who uses their brain is rewarded may also be a myth, but the truth is that anyone that uses their brain and has integrity has the chance to succeed the right way.....
