A day of joy and misery.

Today, I say goodbye to my old job and hello to an uncertain future. I work as a Senior Aide and I am only working at a place for a year. The place that I work at for a year is supposed to hire me but it is a non-profit and it doesn't have the money.

This is upsetting but there is nothing I can do about it. This week I had a job interview to work in the same building but for a different company. I hope I find out today if I am hired to work there or not. If, not, I will take another one year position. My pay is 8.50 an hour, for 20 hours a week without any benefits. So, I am struggling.
I heard a rumor that they are giving me a going away party today(which they almost forgot to give me until a fellow co-worker spoke up). So today will be a day full of misery and joy. I just don't know what there will be more of.

Being in limbo is so stressful. So ironic- those who really want to work, need to work, sometimes are the ones not offered work.

I wish you all the best; hopefully we'll hear that you have great news!

Good luck,

Right now I am a bit in turmoil. All week long I heard that my co-workers were giving me a going away party but that never happened. And I have yet to find out if and where I will work Monday.
In short, my life's a mess!

Sometimes life is messy Ron, But perhaps there is a door that is opening for you, one you have not looked at. Life gives you detours, dead ends, and other avenues to explore.
perhaps fate is calling you.

Oh my, Ron! I missed this one yesterday. Sorry! What a dreary day you had.....I hope ladyhawk is right and there is another door opening for you real soon!

In the meantime, keep working on your Peace Corps stuff; I think you have a winner there!
