Who are these 35% of people?

In a recent poll view link Gallup discovered that 35% actually trust the Health Insurance Companies to make the best reforms to our healthcare crisis,

Huh???

They are the ones who made this mess!!!

What say YOU?

They are clearly people who don't use health insurance companies.

veggie, that is a interesting graphic...most folks think doctors can figure out the health care mess..??

Alot of docs fought tooth and nail against the PPO's even, never mind the HMO's..not that I think HMO's are perfect.

I would say that if a doctor can figure out this mess he is very old( remmebers why he became a doc in the first place) or very idealistic and there ain't many of them left...went the way of docs who make house calls.

And hospitals???? sheesh

Who are any of these folks?

That 35% must belong to AARP. I didn't join AARP because they are sponsored by Insurance Companies. Insurance companies are fighting health reform big time. The only finger they've got in the pie is to force everyone to have health insurance. They say they can make it affordable. Of course, they say that $300 a month is affordable. Tell that to someone who only brings in $700 a month, on a good day.

The 35% of those who say they trust their insruance company are those who work for insurance companies in my opinion.

That's why I don't work for insurance companies any more... but I did for 14 years, and I dare say, I never trusted them then.

Perhaps you mean the upper echelon... :-) The ones who got the bonuses and such.

These are the people that believe all the politicians and their scare tactics and misinformation programs. They don't think about the fact that these politicians are getting huge contributions from the big insurance and pharmaceutical companies. These politicians don't want you to have the same healthcare benefits they get-or that federal employees get(I worked for the government for awhile-they have good insurance)-which a "public option".

I think we have an opportunity to fix something that has needed fixing for decades-and as far as the money part goes-it is pay alot now-or pay even more latter!!!

Those of us who are in the other 65%-need to get off our ass-call or email our "elected officials" and build a fire under their ass to do the
right thing. I used the term "elected officials" rather than "our representatives" because who they represent is highly suspect.

I am very worried that this opportunity is gonna evaporate-and nothing will get done. We elected a good man-but he isn't a dictator, or god-and he is trying to swim upstream against a big current of "maintain the status quo big money interests". We have to make our wishes known-and let the Senate(where the major roadblock is)know what will happen next time they are up for election. It can be done-but it is up to us to do it-even if we have to take it to the streets-ala Iran!!!

Sorry -but this stuff gets me wound up.

These are people that have never had to deal with medical insurance companies getting treatment for major health issues such as cancer. They are people that have never seen how the doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies will bleed you of every penny they can get if you spend much time in the hospital. They are people that don't understand all of these entities are for-profit businesses and it takes alot of money to maintain their lifestyles. These are people that do not have to deal with Workers Compensation injuries or they would know the insurance companies dictate if, when, and what treatment you can get. These are people that have been very fortunate thus far in their lives or they would know that without a doubt we already have socialized medicine in this country, and as it stands now, unless a person is quite wealthy, their treatment is determined by health insurance employees, not their doctors. These are people that absolutely don't have a clue as to what is happening around them.

Yep...things are crook and a common servicer needs to be established. Doesn't seem the private sector has been able to do the job without gouging sooooo....... seems the government is left holding the bag.....again. The ball of roads, bridges, education, police, firefighters, ambulance people, footpaths, libraries and parks have all been dropped from the private sector as no one seems to be interested in carrying it. Health of the population needs to become the responsibility of government. The private sector has failed.

However..... there are many howevers.
