Eraser, zipper and Teflon. Which of these inventions do you think has had the most significant impact, or is there another that stands out for you ?

The eraser. Without the eraser, we couldn't erase all the mistakes that were made and often times, we didn't.

I love the eraser of course and then make-up is next. What better to cover the mistakes the eraser can't erase?

That's a good one!!!

That computer replaced the typewriter! Remember white out? And having to somehow 'erase' the mistakes through several copies of carbon paper!!

Printers - attached to computers replace that machine we would have to type on that blue thing and attach to a drum and turn with a crank. The name escapes me right now...but those were a pain!

You can tell I've worked in offices for quite a while...

Whooo Hooo Joy, that is terrific. I do remember both of the machines so clearly and the carbon and onion paper. That drum thing had ink covering it and smelled to high heaven. White Out is still an office object that I use occasionally. You can cover a mistake, copy the paper and it doesn't even show on the second copy, but just easier to retype the mistake now and print again. I have used it to cover smudges on drawings and acrylics that don't cover well. Don't forgot the master eraser, SPELL CHECK.
