Colorado wineries...

Colorado has almost 50 wineries. Do you have a favorite?
Mine are Balistreri and Creekside. Not only do they some good product in their lines, but we know both owners. Balistreri's is near where I grew up and 1/2 mile from where I went to high school. Creekside is in Evergreen and produces a very good merlot and port.
There are many good ones near Grand Junction as well. One of the great parts of driving to Palisades for peaches and fishing the Grand Mesa is visiting the vineyards of the area for samples and tours.
Have you tried Colorado wine. What do you think?

I've never tried Colorado Wine. I am not much of a drinker. I have been wanting to try Colorado Wines in Cascase, at the base of Pikes Peak. But just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Canyon Wind in Palisade has some good wines. They also have a store and tasting room in Georgetown - much closer than the Western slope.

I do not drink now that I have this fentanyl patch on all the time, as well as taking pain medicines since 2001. The one time I did get a drink while on pain pills, Terry told me the next day just how mean I had gotten that night when she told me that to get a drink of bourbon instead of pain pills. We learned a very harsh lesson that night and when I did discover just how bad I was that night I told her that I will not take another drink while I am on pain pills.

It has been six years that has passed since that night but the thing that really bothered me the most was how scared she was of me when it happened that one time. I told her that day that I will not do any such nonsense as what she experienced from me the night before. And I have kept that promise to her about the drugs and alcohol, because I never would intentionally try to harm her in any way and she knows that about me. Seeing her start shaking recalling how mean I was the night before is a sight I never would want to experience from her ever again. I do feel very lucky that I did not hit her or even tried to do something like that from the night before, the verbal abuse I was told that I gave her that night did frighten me to the point that I never would want to even go there again.

We are going to be in Grand Junction this weekend and one of our plans is to do some wine tasting, if we can. When we lived in Washington State we loved to do that, so I am excited to try some Colorado wine. I can't wait to breathe that wonderful Colorado air - just driving across the state line from Utah it becomes so sweet, I love it!!

It may be a while before I could do something like that again. I did learn a bit about the wine trade in Missouri for it is third behind New York and California with exports to other states as well as production of wine as well.

I believe that the 48 states in the contentious US all have a wine with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii. I can understand about Alaska but a bit hard pressed when trying to figure out why Hawaii doesn't produce wines.
