Letter To The Right

"Dear Conservatives:

Your fellow Americans demand an answer -- and we want it now. Just one simple question:

Are you deliberately trying to start a civil war?

Just answer the question. Yes or no. Don't insult us with elisions, evasions, dithering, qualifications, or conditional answers. We need to know what your intentions are -- and we need to know NOW. People are being shot dead in the streets of America at the rate of several per month now. You may not want responsibility for this -- but the whackadoodles pulling the triggers make no bones about who put them up to this.

You did."

I found it interesting. I posted it here because I felt it would be of interest to liberals.

Great piece, AZ! I have often asked myself the same question. Sometimes it does seem like we're heading towards another civil war. And it is the conservatives, or should I say 'neo-conservatives', that seem to be stirring things up!

even though my views are progressive on most things I still harbor some conservative views on some government and business issues. I would not label these whack jobs as "conservative". they don't believe in due process or in equal protection under the law as is obvious by their behavior. I just can't see William F Buckley waving a gun around or picnicking with the boys under the sheets. these are the remnants of what once was a numerous bunch of domestic terrorist. maybe they are even more dangerous now that their numbers have declined and they feel threatened by a society that is becoming more open. BTW, I had a cross burned on my lawn in the 60's but that crap stopped after it became known that I was an excellant shot and wasn't afraid of them.

That's why I qualified my comment by saying "neo-conservatives" which is pretty much the same as saying "neo-Nazi". The old conservatives are appalled by the amoral conduct of the neo-conservatives. Even John Dean, former White House council to Nixon, wrote a book entitled, Conservatives Without Conscience. As the now famous British PM, Benjamin Disraeli once said, "I am a conservative when it comes to things that work, and a liberal when it comes to thinks that don't work". In many ways I have traditional conservative values.

I agree with Dragon and MWR. There are Wackos fanning the fire in both parties.

The neo-cons are now gearing up to attack Obama with the socialism dodge, because of his intent to get something done about health care. So get ready for even more "whackadoodle" comments and prating and preening in front of TV cameras by Repub. legislators, trying to convince all and sundry that allowing everyone to have decent health care is akin to signing a pact with the devil. Idiots.

In the Tao, they talk about walking the middle way..the wave of the Tao...I have always been a liberal ; I am always against hate, and I am against it from both sides...we do not need to light fires anywhere...we need to try and find balance....boycott hate......in a non-violent way and try to educate others
