i live out side of Denver, for 9 days in a row we have had severe rain, hail and tornados, last sun 5 torandos touched down, one doing quite a bite of damage at the shopping center.
they say we are getting one more more day then it is going to turn really hot.
Yesturday I was at the hospital visiting a friend, her mother and I went to the cafeteria for lunch they make us leave there as a tornado warning for the area, made us go to an inside halway away from the glass windows, they locked everyone in so we couldn't leave.
when I did leave coming home I saw a car with hail on it and it looked like we had 4 inches if snow.
global warming and other natural occurances would cause some abnormalities just the opposite of what happens in your area.tell that to the grass and blackberries here where i live, cut it one day and because of intermitting sun and rain you will have to cut two days later or you will have a start of a jungle.
btw those patterns if the ocean currents start to change(warming or cooling) will make a big difference.like the El NINO and EL NENA we hacve in the Pacific.
I think "global warming" has been replaced in the scientific community with "climate change". my SO is a science writer on stuff like that and she says evidence of change is everywhere but there's not much consensus of exactly what is going on and more importantly what mankinds contribution is. around here I notice things like what used to be a canal is now open water. most of Louisana south of I-10 will be under water in a few decades and the Gulf keeps getting closer. less protection from Hurricanes for areas that used to be safe.
This could be known as the "yr. without a summer" :( Tooo early to tell. Also too early to tell if it's from global warming.
Just a thought rattling round in my head early in this mornings coffee drinking.........
We have coal companies blowing the tops off mountains in WVA. That causes airborne pollution clear across the SE US. Increased cloud cover because of airborne particulates eventually becomes rain or snow, even if it all blows out to sea.
On the opposite side of the globe we have N Korea shooting off nukes, presumably causing similar reactions in the "local" area.
In the Amazon, millions of acres of the rainforest have been clear cut to provide grazing for animals and to plant crops that are not local, and not meant for local consumption.
Cause and reaction is one of the first scientific principles we learn about. These few examples may be the extreme end of the spectrum, but they are important to consider. Then you can factor in ........
Whatever your favorite polluting pet peeve may be.
How much better (in general) would the world be if there were more concideration to "cause & effect?" I think "global warming" is a confusing term. it means that weather will get more extreme, not warmer.
Getting more unpredictable. Last week there was talk about no summer..Now it's gonna be 90's. The only constant is the rain.
Can extreme weather make us sick? Allergies?
like suspectible to colds and flues?maybe,i know in the last year i have come down with more garbage. am wondering tho if its from all the pollutions, sprays and addited harmones to foods we eat?
btw, somewhere i read where low areas along coastal and tidal areas might go underwater if this keeps up with the global warming trend and the currents in the Oceans change creating more of weather problems.
