I read this in the Buzz Log and thought I would pass it along. If anyone can go toe to toe with "the dick" it would be Leon Panetta...

Panetta on Cheney
In a Jane Mayer profile of CIA head Leon Panetta in next week's New Yorker, Panetta addresses Dick Cheney's scathing criticism of the Obama administration's national security policies. Panetta, who wrote a short but blunt broadside against torture in the Washington Monthly before he took the CIA job, told Mayer: "I think [Cheney] smells some blood in the water on the national-security issue. It’s almost, a little bit, gallows politics. When you read behind it, it’s almost as if he’s wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point." Ladies and gentlemen on the left, ladies and gentlemen on the right, start your engines...

even though it might cause some nausea I recommend the book "vice" about Cheney. this is a power broker and minipulator of the first order. what makes him even more dangerous is that he is a "true believer". I regreat that Panetta went so far as to accusing him of wanting us to be attacked. one of the things that does bother me about this administration is that they seem to personalize and attempt to destroy or humiliate anyone that disagrees with them. maybe I have to get used to that as it seems the method of operation for both parties.

Of course that's what Cheney is doing. He's positioning himself so that if and when we get hit again, he can say, "I told you so!" If we do get hit again (and I sincerely hope we don't), I just hope that Cheney is at ground-zero when it happens! I've had it with that sociopathic A**H***!

Cheney is being a large pain in the butt right now. Whenever he is asked to be on a TV program, he says something inflammatory and denigrates the current adminstration. I totally agree with Panetta, Cheney is trying to make everyone nuts about security. It worked for 8 years with the Bushies, successfully acting as the rationalization for all kinds of illegal activity. Now Cheney wants to use it again, this time to make it look as if Obama is soft on terrorists and lax on security. He needs to go hunting again, this time with someone as bad a shot as he is.
