Ain't it funny that the ruling 'party' stays in power?
This reminds me of Budapest 1956--the heroic efforts of the Hungarians trying to throw off the Russian yoke only to have it crushed by Mongol troops of the Red Army.
The world listened with its ear glued to the radio during those terrible days. At first it seemed that the people had overthrown tyranny, then to listen to the despair after the Red Army started to blast Budapest into pieces with their tanks shooting out the ground floors, collapsing buildings on the occupants.
what a sad story, Gene..I was 6 at that time and didn't have a care in the world that I can remember.. but I will remember those heroic Hungarians from now on.
I'm feeling rather green, right now, as well.
Unfortunately, history is replete with sad stories such as this, TeamOne. Tyranny and oppression seems to be the one constant in all of human history.
Sadly, you are right, MWR
Even if grammatically incorrect. LOL That's the one thing I don't like about Eons. You can't edit something once you post it. First I wrote only 'tyranny' and then added 'oppression' at the last minute, so.............Tyranny and oppression SEEM to be the only CONSTANTS in all of human history! There! LOL Sad, but true. :-( And we never seem to run out of tyrants! Perhaps scientists can figure out a way of using tyrants along with idiots as an energy source, since they seem to be in infinite supply! LOL
hahahhahahha who noticed that???? the rear of the left side of my brain said that sentence was okay... lol
It's my darn Latin professor in college. He was from Harvard---old school, if you know what I mean. Well, he was not only a stickler for proper grammar in Latin but in English as well. Every time I write a sentence, I can hear him in my head saying, no Mr. Diaz, that's incorrect! Funny thing is though, he never actually said that to me--but we all knew he was thinking it! He scared the hell out of all of us. We were utterly terrified of making a mistake in his class! The irony of it all is that I was one of his favorite students! LOL
It's amazing the profound impact that teachers can have on young impressionable minds and how those impressions can stick with you all of your life. LOL Oh well! Debeo laudare meum bonum fortunum! God help me if I got that wrong! LOL ;-)
Yikes! Latin...the scourage of every young Catholic...grrrrr!! hahaha I wanted to take French but was overidden by the parents. Let me take a stab at it...."you owe laudre(your professor?) your good fortune?"
