raise taxes

That's a nasty word for any politician.
Cap and trade sounds good, no mention of taxes, better to do that than raise taxes on fuel which is a much simpler solution.
Lower taxes doesn't work because what gets hit first? Welfare programs and anything to do with improving infrastructure.
Obama wants to equalise the economy, make the income tax more progressive. The way he is doing it now the middle class is going to get blindsided.
The government is broke after using 5% of the stimulus which wasn't really a stimulus but a wishlist of the Democratic party which won't even come into effect before 2019. Why waste a crisis?
The Tarp money they are reluctantly accepting back from the banks was at a 5% interest gain. Who lends money for such a low figure?
It's called accepting the status quo and being stupid.
Most people still can't see where Obama is going with the economy. Can't wait till next year and middle class people see an increase in taxes, an increase in inflation and links to make themselves feel better , like NPR

Evidently not tj. I use my passport as I wish to but live here right now. There are better places to live for some reasons there are worse places to live for some reasons. Unlike so many in America for me it has nothing to do with money.

Alex, Alex, how can you quantify how American someone is? Is a veteran more American than a non vet? Is a person that has voted in every election more American than someone who chooses not to vote. Is someone who works and pays taxes more of an American that someone who doesn't contribute. Are you more American than our President who has lived overseas? How can you claim to be more American than anyone else? Now go to your room and think about what you said.

as this post will be deleted afain, let me explain how i will take who is a better americans

some in this group have claimed that as some of us are not living int he US we are not americans

i was an american citizen that has to ronounce the american citizenship, to be able to have all my family toghether in the US (it was already explained before and all the steps)

i consider myself, a better american than some one that after he got in a fight has to run to another country, have not renueded his american pasport, and have no plans to come back to the US

i hope it edxplains my view point

Alex, I don't get it.
Why would you have to give up your American citizenship?
I didn't understand how if you were an American citizen your daughter wouldn't automatically be the same.
And if she wasn't an American citizen, she wouldn't have to pay American taxes anyway.
Something wrong with this story

If you are an American citizen living here or abroad, you are an American, period. None of us is any more, or less, an American unless you choose to give up your citizenship and then my feeling is you have no say in our affairs just as I have no say in the affairs of any other citizen from any other country in the world. This isn't complicated.

This is a classic. None of you makes any sense and yet all of you makes even less sense. Here we have all the fucked up member(s) in one post talking to each other. Figure that one out. CC, tj and alex all conversing inside the same post one after the other. If I had a white coat I'd don it and with a straightjacket cart this lot off to hospital.

Well JB, there not trying to make sense, only talking points by redefining what they call " personal attacks ", and revisionist history. I think most of us get that. They can't support there opinion with facts so they do the next best thing. Turn the debate into an us against them Liberals vs Conservatives.

Case in point " Charles I never thought you were here by the grace of anyone. I welcome your point of view because ( it acts to reinforce my beliefs about liberal views ). My post was merely pointing out your attack mode.
CapeC."

And this point taken out of context by CapeC " "When you put things in context ( like those of us in America who want America to succeed ) you can draw a better more accurate conclusion than those who take factual information out of context in order to bash Obama."

Of which CapeC took to mean " So from what Charles wrote we can assume that anyone who disagrees with him or the current administration is not an American that wants America to succeed!"

Which was clearly a tactic that lawyers use to redirect the attention of the jurors to the opposing side. If I was incline to say what CapeC perceived as me saying, I think I got the balls to say what I mean.

Your take on this is accurate. I think we will see more comments that express the idea that liberals are picking on conservatives but I pay no heed to such silly comments. As I have pointed out many times we are all conservative - as well as liberal - thinkers.

Now i have no answer but b0tth partys are basically making the same mistake: the republicam when they ertr in power saw cutting taxes as a qay to deal with pur budget mess
Thr Democrats see either changing or adding new taxes. Why isn't there some compromise way of doing this?
