raise taxes

That's a nasty word for any politician.
Cap and trade sounds good, no mention of taxes, better to do that than raise taxes on fuel which is a much simpler solution.
Lower taxes doesn't work because what gets hit first? Welfare programs and anything to do with improving infrastructure.
Obama wants to equalise the economy, make the income tax more progressive. The way he is doing it now the middle class is going to get blindsided.
The government is broke after using 5% of the stimulus which wasn't really a stimulus but a wishlist of the Democratic party which won't even come into effect before 2019. Why waste a crisis?
The Tarp money they are reluctantly accepting back from the banks was at a 5% interest gain. Who lends money for such a low figure?
It's called accepting the status quo and being stupid.
Most people still can't see where Obama is going with the economy. Can't wait till next year and middle class people see an increase in taxes, an increase in inflation and links to make themselves feel better , like NPR

I have stayed on the sidelines and just observed what has been going on in this group. It is still a very divisive unit where anyone with an opposing viewpoint is demonized as demonstrated by Charles in this piece of his last reply.

"When you put things in context ( like those of us in America who want America to succeed ) you can draw a better more accurate conclusion than those who take factual information out of context in order to bash Obama."

More scare tactics from the right and again " No Plan ".

So from what Charles wrote we can assume that anyone who disagrees with him or the current administration is not an American that wants America to succeed! The other thing is always referring to any opposition as a scare tactic or a hater or a racist or whatever it is the current party line is. Perhaps it's time to take a deep breath and listen and try and understand that not everyone will always agree with each other and stop the damn name calling.

Let me reply this way CapeC. You may condemn my comments if that is your wish. You may interpret what I say however you wish. What you cannot do is dictate how I should express my opinion.

Perhaps you and Tj should understand I am not here by the grace of you two. I think once you both understand that, the better for all concern. It's your choices. Have a nice day :>)

TJ does not only not live in America but has many times said he dislikes America so I understand the comment made.

There is a hatefulness that comes through in comments that are made about President Obama -always by the same people - as well as comments made by people here directed at people here in this group that tend to sound hateful. I find it interesting because none of us really know each other.

The conservative party is known to use fear. It has to because believing in a religion is based on fear and conservatives believe religion is the center of society’s morality. The conservative party is dying a slow death so their words are more ferocious and their fear mongering more intense. The conservative party is constantly on the attack because they see attaining the presidency as winning a prize. In the mind of a conservative there is no room for compromise so the natural thing for a conservative to do when faced with any loss is constantly find fault with everything any liberal or moderate thinking person says or does.

The conservative movement is not all bad. There are a couple of ideas about governing they have that I like. President Obama likes them as well and is incorporating these ideas into his running of our government.

Perhaps it's time to take a deep breath and listen and try and understand that not everyone will always agree with each other and stop the damn name calling.

You are guilty of using words out of context and being accusatory.

'So from what Charles wrote we can assume that anyone who disagrees with him or the current administration is not an American that wants America to succeed!' This was a comment made to a single person.

'The other thing is always referring to any opposition as a scare tactic or a hater or a racist or whatever it is the current party line is.'

The bile that comes out in some comments is racist, hateful and based solely on fear. To write a comment pointing that out is why this group exists. There are a fair share of comments that use the word liberal like it is a foul word and I will never believe that a person who cannot find anything good in another person isn't a person filled with hate of some kind. In this instance tj constantly makes statements about how President Obama is deliberately ruining America and we should all be as scared as we can be. tj, on the other hand, can't seem to wait to see Americans fail. That seems hateful to me.

Charles I never thought you were here by the grace of anyone. I welcome your point of view because it acts to reinforce my beliefs about liberal views. My post was merely pointing out your attack mode. You didn't disqualify the content of what tj wrote you merely became accusatory. Trippin also immediately came to your defense by once again pointing out how hatefull the conservative party is, whoever they are, and accused people of comments that are racist. It was and still is my observation that the "left" are the ones that label anyone opposing their views as being, bile, or racist, or as a hater, or as being un American. Why don't you all just try and debate fact with opposing fact and stop the labeling and name calling?

@charles
if you come with a better idea to solve problems let me know

most of my life i have been living abroad
when my daughter was born, i could not claim her as an american citizen

no family values in the amerians laws

view link

my daughter was not alowed to travel to the states, as she might stay illegally (being a child and traveling in my company
but sha had to pay patxes, because as the son of a citizen i was required to show she is paying taxes, altught i could not claim her as a dependand (she was not a citizen)

to make a long story short
i nounced my american citizenship
i aplied (next day) to come to the US (as non inmigrant) under an L1 visa (and my daughter as a dependant)
i was aprouved inmidiatly
having that visa aprouved, i aplied to inmigrate with an EB-5 visa to become an permanent resident (and my daughter as a dependant)
view link
and we were aprouved

as you now see better, in the american laws money speak louder than family values

now i hope you can undertand better why namk robers, drug smuglesr and terrorist can come to the US as permament resident withut any problems
or do you belive they have problems with money?

as i said, in the american laws, drug smuglers, bank robers and terrorist have preference over the child of a citizen when it ocme to be living in the US

but now, that we have the permant residence aporuved, and the conditions removed i tookadvantage of the goverment offers
i close the offices here in the US
i offer my employees to continue working for me in a foreing country
i am apying them 5% more of their salary in the US
i provide for them health care (i did not provided for them health care in the US)
they have one month vacations paid
when they take vacations, they get their salary in advance, and another spare salary for spending money during their vacations (so they can travel to the Us if they want)
they also get one month salary as bonus at the end of the year

in othe words they get 14 monthly salaries for 11 month work at a rate 5% higher than in the US (in other words they make 25% more than in the US)
all that is paid bt the benefits i get from outsourcing the jobs (as the goverment preffer)
but then americans belive i do it for the lower salaries
are you sure, the laws do not encourage the outsourcing of jobs?

in my case, americans did not loose their jobs, but how many americans companies are willing to share the benefots the goverment goces them with their employees instead of pocketing to their CEO's

as i said before, i am interested in leaving my daughter a better country
it seems others preffer to complain than actually read all the laws and how they afect the economy (and jobs) of the country

Trippin,
If you look at the latest government polls
40% are conservative
35% are moderate
19% are liberals
and the rest have other leaning values; these are values, not to be confused with party affiliations.

And yes, when they said America love it or leave it, I left. I'm sure if most of you had the opportunity in 1974 you would have too rather than taking a minimum wage job in an economical enviorment that was almost as bad as it is today. What is it they say, love works both ways?

How can I say this without casting aspersion onto any one contributor? There is a common thread running through several members' comments that tie them all together as one. I think those of you smarter than me know of whom I speak.
