Yes, I know… the world is coming to an end… I’m up early…Bright eyed and bushy-tailed. (read blood shot and limp) lolol

Welcome home, dear hearts… Welcome home to all of mine.

Get your buns in here! Dry out a bit.. Ain’t the humidity just awful? Rain yesterday and ‘they’ are saying we are gonna have more rain today. I’m beginning to feel like a soggy mushroom… look like one too…

What a week this last one has been! Sheesh! Cyberspace has been eating the News…The server hates me, I’m sure. So does the coffee maker. Need I mention the Storm gods?

Coffee maker! That goofy thing made a mess all over the nice, clean, well scrubbed section of the kitchen. You should see the floor and the counter again.

I fussed! I cussed but other than re-arranging the sequence, I don’t think I invented any new ones…cuss words, that is! Lolol

After a cooling off period, for me AND the coffee pot, I decided to remove some body parts from the coffee maker. Oh yeah! I got a hold of that little springy thing and removed it’s little self from the works. Whether the coffee maker will still work, I didn’t know and didn’t much care right at that moment… I have a two cup maker as a back up.

Guess what! Removing that little springy thing didn’t hurt a thing. The coffee maker still works. I have lovely hot coffee, fresh ground and fresh made… a mug full sitting right in front of me…Oh yes! I think today is gonna be a good day! Or not… lolol

I think the spring thingy problem was caused by sumfin called the Law of Unintended Results (LAUR)…which states…If it ain’t broke to begin with and you fix it, sumfin sure as hell will go wrong with the ‘fix’. In this case, a coffee flood!

I know what happened in the case of this ‘fix’. Somebody complained about the slight drip from above when they first grabbed the pot for their first cup.

“AHA” said the manufacturer! “That’s simple…just retool a little bit…add the spring thingy and the situation is corrected! Make the customers happy!” Boy, were they wrong…

Then there is the problem of cyber-space Eons gobbling up the News…LAUR was at it again!

Had the News already to c/p from WORD. Started my routine of pasting the News in the different groups…VNV, then WHVV and Whoa! Sumfin didn’t look right in WHVV. Well RATZ!

It wasn’t the News showing in WHVV but a private message (PM) that I had sent a day or two before… (No, I didn’t C/P the PM by accident.)

I removed the two posts and went looking for the News to redo the c/p. News was gone.

Did I mention the Crazy/super glue incident from yesterday?

Oh gee! I really need to stay away from that stuff! I opened a new tube… poked a hole in the end… and found my fingers glued to a block of wood and the tube itself!

I don’t know if this is better or worse than the time I accidentally glued the seat of my pants to the cushion of the swing chair. I know that it was a heck of a lot easier to get out of those britches than it is getting a block of wood off your fingers…

I know you guys think I am kidding when I say I ‘rake and curry’ the apartment’s rug but I ain’t!

or view link view link

Well, I raked the floor yesterday… Oh man! The Newbie is shedding and he’s not half done yet. Newbie decided that he was going to supervise the raking and plopped himself right in the middle of the floor…

I am raking up wads of yellow dog shed… just a fussing again..me, not the Newbie..lolol Hmmmm! There on the floor, all stretched out … at ease… resting comfortably…not a worry in the world … taking up space… breathing my air…the still growing Newbie (Do they ever stop growing?)

I pause to consider the problem at hand… Dog is here.. fall out still on dog…Another AHA! I proceed to rake the dog! Oh yeah! I believe this is called ‘primary’ raking! Lolol Goofy dog loved it and I cracked up… He even rolled over so I could get his belly!

Problem is ya can’t get all this excess hair all gone at one time… lolol

Later… Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to carry a rake with you at all times… Ya never know when you might run into a Newbie type critter!

Many hugs and much love… the out of her mind, still giggling meems

Hey Brat... good to see you again... hugs

2009/6/17 Noon

I think I am beginning to turn into a moldy mushroom! The temp and the humids are both outrageously high! Iced tea, lemonade, cold drinks are the only way to go right now! Sheesh, we have flash flood warnings and severe storm warnings already. Poor old Owsley County is right in the middle of all this messy weather.

Woo hooooooo! I got into all kinds of trouble yesterday… Jessie is a bad influence! Trust me, she is! I really don’t need somebody who aids and abets… I can get into all kinds of trouble all by myself… Don’t need any help there at all!

We stopped at two junk stores in Beattyville before we went to the groc store!

Ah yes, junk outlet stores… lolol

First stop … I found pairs of louver bifold doors, hinges and all for $6 a set! Got 3 sets of them babies… Use ‘em for semi perm dividers to the living room… I found some medium sized frames for next to nuffin’…Oh, and a big clay pot w/tray for $5….All this junk is setting in the living room right now… lolol

Question! How come it is that you do one thing, to clean say, and the rest of the house turns into a disaster area? Anybody else have that problem? Lolol Or is it just me?

Well, anyway, I went into the grocery store when we got there… Hurried thru but did take time to torment the manager, Chris. Poor man… Rules say he has to be ‘nice’ to the customers… Can you say: I try his patience? Cracking up here!

Seem like one of the freezer units was stopped up or sumfin… I offered my assistance… Chris said no… I offered again… He said no again and explained that if I couldn’t handle a coffee pot/maker, I wasn’t getting anywhere near his freezer! OMG! I fell on the floor laffing. That brat did a gotcha on me!

I forgot that he gets a copy of the News! Remember the other day and the coffee maker thingy? Lolol

I would have left in a huff, but I couldn’t find one! Chris didn’t exactly throw me out, he just kinda/sorta escorted me to the doors! Lolol Told ya I’d get ya Chris… Gotcha big time! Hugs Brat!

Guess I’d better quit before the storms get here…Thunder is rumbling out there right now!

Later all of mine… go in safety always.. Remember to keep your waders handy… Never know when you might need them.

Many hugs and much love…meems

Been up since all of noon today… Had some coffee… fresh ground/fresh made. My shriveled mushroom appearance has not improved nor has my disposition! Lolol Be warned!

I’m just hoping the electric and the phone keep working. There were 6,000 without electric the other day. I was one of them… Got the electric back and then the phone system went down! Can you say RATZ?!? Sheesh….

No electric! I bet I went to the microwave a dozen or more times… to warm up my very cold coffee. Hmm… that don’t work…

Went out to feed the chickyducks… saw that the waterfall wasn’t running… Another RATZ! Maybe pump plugged up? drag pump out and check it… nope… Hmmm… Circuit breaker blown? I trudge up the grassy slope to the back porch (rain runoff covering my shoes) heading for the breaker box… Then it dawns on me… Duh, Paula, the elec is off…

Put candles in the bathtub with mirror behind them… still reached for the lit switch..Got hungry… Stove electric. No fans …No well pump… no water…

Dead silence… no hum of the A/C…no drone of the fans… no background music or tv. No hum of the fridge…No nothing in the house.

Yet outside…I could hear the creek tumbling and roaring… I could hear the thunder rumbling on the far side of the mountain.. I could hear the drops of water falling from and through the leaves.

[Have you any idea how desperately bored I am if I spend the day doing laundry? Oh yeah! Had elec yesterday but No phone…no puter… ] I am now a very unhappy camper.

Well, grumbling and fussing did me no good at all! In between loads of laundry, I worked on and mostly finished My Lady of the Flag l. Started another painting of My Lady (ll) wrapped in a red and white banner. This one is an 18x 36 oil on panel. Ok, I got that much done.. cleaned up my brushes…

Last load of laundry went in the machine about 2200 hours… Thank goodness!

I woke up at 0400 and couldn’t get back to sleep… I read the mail… went into the studio and added on stroke to My Lady 1…a black band on her arm… went back to bed!

Is this boring or what? The 6 pack + wanted in and out of the heat and humids. I have wall to wall dogs here in the apartment! Newbie had to have his ears rubbed… Spudley want his chest scratched… Oh yeah… Lilyputz has learned a new trick…

Yup yup, she has and she is driving me crazy! Lolol I have an old shutter blocking the door way to the studio… Allows air to circulate and keeps the critters out of there. You have no idea how far oil paints can travel once attached to a dog or a cat or to me for that matter!

Well, anyway, Lily has learned to push the shutter forward and to the side just enuf to wriggle her bod into the studio… She curls up under the easel and zonks out. No problem so far, right? Right!

However, she has not figured out how to escape from her own brand of mischief. The Lily wakes up… can’t get back thru the opening she’s made…starts to fuss! Oh dear! Meems must quit what I am doing and go rescue ‘chubby buns’. She sits up in the begging position and gives me to know that she wants out of there… PLUS, she also lets me know that her present problem is all my fault!

Best quit for now… skies are getting a lot darker…

Oh, gotta tell you about the lightning in the storm the other day… Ground to cloud; cloud to cloud. Thunder deafening. I went to the back door to let Spud and Max inside. I opened the door and just as I did, I saw a bolt of lightning go crashing down the holler following the creek. My brain knew there would be an immediate sound of thunder but I was not prepared for the volume nor the force of the air displacement… Thunder cracked and sizzled and roared… Startled, I bet I jumped a foot! Decided to close the door and stay inside until the storm gods got tired.

OK everybody… try to stay out of trouble today will you?

Take care all of mine… go in safety always… Remember, I am still selling used arks…bring your own oars!

Many hugs and much love… meems

ATTN M&M’S If you find any of this blog unacceptable, please feel free to delete all or part of the following. Thanx, Paula

emom,

Please stop posting your daily emom news in the news article section of P********k. That area is specifically for stories related to the L*******y and not for personal daily thoughts or musings. I would like to suggest that you start a thread in the "General Discussions" area where you can update your postings daily and not clog up other areas of the site.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter!

My reply

My dear *** I will be happy to stop posting the News and taking up your valuable space. My only thought in posting my 'musing' was to bring a little humor to a very serious and somber group. I do apologize if I offended anyone... it was not my intent...

I have been posting the News for several months now... It would have saved me a great deal of embarrassment had you advised me much earlier of my offense.

To all my friends here... I do apologize... Take care all and go in safety. hugs and much love .. the leaving you now meems...Paula Rice/emom

TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

The above was the original part of a continuing conversation between me and a moderator for another social group. I joined this group and started posting the News for the same reasons I have been posting the News on Eons… A letter from home for mine and to maybe cause a smile to appear on the reader’s face.

Well, for this social group, I apparently was posting the News in the wrong location.

I’ve pondered on this for several days… I have made some friends in this group. Have rec’d some nice comments… etc. I was having a good time and telling some work tales.
This group also had some military locations… I felt like I was doing something good.

The moderator advised me, nicely this time, I was free to post the news in a general discussion (public access) area or in a section entitled LOCKER ROOM, public access.
Well now, my feelings had been hurt. Yes, I do have feelings… and yes, they do get hurt on occasion. I consider the source and overlook most put-downs especially from mine. This man (moderator) is not suffering PTSD or a mental problem however.

I worked with these people for years… took care of them…never knowingly sent one into danger. Never lost one while I was on duty. Took care of my injured, bruised and battered in a TA while on duty… Received calls from mine waking me during the nite when mine were upset and needed to talk. babysat with abused children… wiped a child’s vomit off my uniform…I cared and I worked…I worked 10 midnites in a row with a rib that was freshly broken in two places so that the territory would not be short a man. I worked storms, blizzards, explosions (oh yeah, by myself too), terrible fires… “my baby is dead’ calls… and now, my blog is not considered worthy to be printed inside the group?

Maybe I’m on an ego trip… but I still have hurt feelings… I have dropped out of the group and will not go back.

I am sorry this happened and I am embarrassed for myself. Tripped over my own ego, I did…

Anyway, I think that is out of my system for a while… and as I said at the beginning, if any Mgr or Mod finds this news letter inadmissible, delete it… I have no problem with honesty or following the rules…as long as I know what they are at the beginning. Please don’t EVER let me continue to do something unacceptable for months and then tell me to correct the situation. Tell me right up front… I have no problem with that at all… I DO learn.

Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Be at peace.. Remember honesty is always the best policy (most of the time lol) I hope to be in a better mood soonly..maybe tomorrow.

Many hugs and much love… the still learning Meems

Hey everybody! Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Grab a cuppa or sumfin…Back porch setting is still good…for a while anyway. It’s 80 out there already but the humids have dropped a bit!

Oh yeah, do go out on the porch for at least a minute. MIMOSA IS BLOOMING! First time! Has 3 little powder puff blooms wide open… Smells so good. I’ve waited 3 years for this event and I am celebrating! Woooo Hooooo ! Lolol

There are two more growing on the back side of the pond… Not near big enuf to bloom yet… but they are coming along… 2007 & 2008 were hard on all the trees and shrubs… Drought conditions all over this territory damaged almost everything.…My beautiful butterfly bush didn’t survive. None of my baby blue spruce’s made it… Ground conditions up here must not be right for the spruces…

The good news tho…Tiger lilies are blooming like crazy right now… The Agave bloomed and the ivy is growing like crazy…

The bad news? Viv has made a bed right in the middle of one of my Hosta’s out front! Yup, can you say smashed flat? Lolol

That poor little girl is such a klutz right now… All arms and legs (the teen-age ganglies) lolol … She was chasing Max yesterday and tripped over her own feet… She ended up sprawled under the quince bush out front after doing some kind of semi summersault... plowing up about 6’ of ground with her nose (small exaggeration here)! I fell off the porch laffing… lolol Especially when she sat up and looked around with that ‘just what the heck happened?’ expression on her face!

Would have missed that trick except Jessie and the sainted Gary came over to mow… Oh dear! Those two are a pair! Of what, I’m not sure, but they do crack me up! Anyway, I sat out on the front porch for a while…Ran my mouth with whomever was, at the moment, the non-mower. Mower got rained on…rained just long enuf to soak Jessie who happened to be the mower of the moment. Lolol Can you say drowned rat look? Lolol Poor Jessie.

Got to wave at my flyguys the other day… lolol When I could see them between small breaks in the cloud layers… Got flashed too… lolol Waved at a small heldoctor and it circled the house twice on the way back up the holler…I ended up with the giggles… lolol

Can you imagine being a pilot looking down and seeing a little old white haired lady waving and throwing kisses your direction? I wonder what goes thru their minds.. lolol.. Could be they are scouting for the guys with the butterfly nets who just might be heading my way… Anna says ‘they’ ARE gonna come get me!

Let em see here… have to tell you how I got started waving at my flyguys up here on the mountain. Lolol

Many of the ‘low flyers’ up here are looking for illegal pot fields… Can you imagine?

Well anyway, I became part of their flight path right after I had the pond dug! Lolol I lined the sides and top of the bank with black plastic sheeting… The idea being to keep the weeds down. Worked too, until the wind got ahold of some of the edges… But that part is a diff story.

I’ve been told that all these lowflyers are looking for the heat signature put out by pot plants… Warmer than the natural vegetation and surrounds. Makes sense to me.

I’ve seen heldoctors, miles to the east of me, divert from a direct north/south to come up the holler, circle the house then go back to their original flight path. Lolol Now, the explanation for this strange behavior. I can’t help but giggle here… Black plastic in the sun gets very hot… much hotter than the surrounds… lololol They thot I had a pot patch out back! Maybe they use my pond location as a training tool…

These guys are impressive when they repel out of one of them BIG heldoctors into the mountain pot fields…Scare the heck out of the wild life too. Oh yeah… Wonder how they get them, the guys, out of those isolated spots?

Oh gosh, the Newbie is still shedding… I can’t wait til the Viva starts going thru this shedding business next year. I’ll be ankle deep in rafts of dog fur in no time. The hot muggies are keeping us all inside right now.

I have been getting some painting work done… Finally finished The Lady l and worked on Lady ll until midnite or so.

or view link view link

Guess that’s it for now… Gonna try, magic word being try, to stay out of trouble today. Lolol

Take care all of mine.. go in safety always… Remember the bigger the dog, the longer it takes for them to grow up…and, like in children, some never do…

I did it! I did it! I DID IT! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! What did I do? I managed without even half trying to stay out of trouble. Well, maybe, unless you want to count the….. hmmm… never mind… Let’s not go there! Lolol

Been sort of a weird day… altogether too quiet? I rounded up the elec weed eater… made sure I had some line in it… and it works. Out in the morning early to do some clean up…

When the odd couple were here yesterday… some areas were too wet and it also did some raining while they were trying to get the job done.

And, I must get to the mimosa and cut it back some… trying to train it away from the house and yet still shade the west side of the back porch.

Well, I went into the ‘work’ room as opposed to the studio room to look for the saws-all. I keep all my tools in there. I have a heavy duty metal desk sitting in the middle of the floor and I nail paintings into frames… put corners together. Beat the stuffing out of some things with my fave hammer..sling paint… do antiquing… You know all that handy person stuff that needs to be done around here…

or view link view link

Remember the ladder on the bed? Lolol Just so I could put up a sky hook! I also have a hammock and its frame down in the basement that I need to put together… Not that I can use it right now… lolol Hammocks don’t look good with elderly flesh melting over the sides from the heat… Yuck! That conjures up a terrible picture in my mind. However ugly, it is still a truism in this hot humid weather!

Well, anyway… While I was in the work room, I started putting my tools away in the old desk… lolol after I found the saws-all. Straightened up the desk top..closed all the drawers… restacked some of the empty frames thereby opening up the area around the A/C duct. (One thing I wish I had learned from my dad was to sweat copper pipes… Don’t know how to do that… )

All of a sudden I heard Lilah complaining mightily… Did I trap her in the stacks of frames?… nope… moved and looked… look under the desk… in the closet even tho the doors had remained closed. (Ya never know)…Did I close up anything.. a box… a container? Where in the heck is she?

Aha! All of a sudden I feel tiny sharp claws raking my arm. Lilah…! Her was in the deep desk drawer… squalling and reaching thru the missing handle spot on the drawer. Well, she got my attention… I opened the drawer, dragged her fuzzy body out of the desk and carried her out to the hall… Shut the door firmly behind me after checking to see if all the dogs were out of there. Lol I never travel alone…

Oh and I must tell you that I received a gift from OrchidLover… well, two gifts really. Both are orchids… One has a beautiful deep red/deep green leaf… the other was just a lumpy type of stick with white hairy looking things at the bottom. The white hairies are roots, I think!

or view link view link

The lumpy stick is now developing a bud… and the red/green is showing new leaves. They each have their own little pots and they sit in an elongated oval shallow dish right in front of the kitchen window.

OL asked me how they were doing… were they behaving themselves..? Oh yes! I let her know they were well behaved and thriving… I warned them, the orchids, early on that if they did not behave, I would cut their roots off! They turned deathly pale but recovered quite rapidly from that suggested trauma. … started growing too! Lolol

1400, the 24th. Well, I best get moving… I wrote most of this last nite.. Got to bed about 0230 hrs… Think I have my days and nites mixed up again… I really am a nite person…Slept eleven hours… But I feel good and I know I have turned another corner in my life. It really feels good to let go of the past. Not the fun and good stuff…Just the bad and the hurtful. Now I’ve really must get to work…

Guess who didn’t get outside early this am to do the weed-eating stuff? Aw… you guessed! I ain’t dependable at all anymore… I’ll blame this on my age… (I can get away with that too)

Take care all of mine… go in safety always.. Remember, as hard as it may seem, you CAN let go of the bad in time.

Many hugs and much love… meems

Well, ratz! Wayne, Little Jake, sent sent me the funniest email today… Tried to c/p it here but no dice! The pictures (the most important parts) would not transfer and locked up my puter….

But I gotta tell you about the pictures anyway.. lolol Wayne said I should have one in my back yard. One of what? LOLOL A yeller dog clipped to mimic a male lion. Lolol

Well, I got to pondering on this ‘look’ for the Newbie himself! I cracked up!

The Newbie is the right color… big enuf…charming enuf.. Scary enuf especially when he grins. Nose might be a little too pointy to pass muster but otherwise, he’s got it all!

Can’t you just see me outside the groomer’s..? Trying with all my might to drag this monster of a dog (all 185 pounds of him) into the groomer’s? Trying to hold the door open and at the same time trying to drag his sorry butt into the waiting room… Him with all 4 legs in the ‘reverse’ position. Me praising him to the sky for every forward step we manage to take? “Good boy!… Good Newbie! All right Newb’s …!” Not nary a soul stepping forward to help me…Can’t imagine why!

After going thru the above scenario mentally, I was exhausted physically! Lolol

Another problem I might have would be with the USDA or the DEA…Yup, my low flying guys… How, you ask? Well let me tell you about the mountain telegraph system.

Start a rumor here today and the whole territory will know about it yesterday!

Big rumors start at the beginning of pot growing season… lolol Two years ago, we had rumors of the Gov on the Q.T, seeding our area with TREE Rattlesnakes….10 footers!
And then one time we had black painters (puma’s) running the mountain sides… Then there’s the new law that the state passed 4 years ago…It is now illegal to keep alligators in your pond. ( this is true)

Well now, this Alligator Law threw a monkey wrench in my works! I had it all worked out… If Mr.A gave me too much trouble, I was gonna ‘demise’ him and throw him in the pond…Let the gators deal with the evidence.

Then I thought about piranhas.. that would work except I’d have left over bones… Hmmm! Well, I could buy a bone grinder and sprinkle the dust over the house plants.

I decided that it would be “cheaper and more efficient to shoot the no count guy… throw his buns over the drop off out back when the creek was running high! Bad guy would wash down stream and end up as somebody else’s problem.”

Truth is, when I was discussing this neighbor or one just like him with the County Prosecutor, I said the above to the C.P.

Pogo had gone with me to the C.P.’s office… Pogo almost fainted… ! “PAULA! He’s the prosecutor”!

Well, I knew that! Sheesh!

LOLOL Any complaints about today’s news, aim them at Little Jake… Today’s ramblings were all his fault! Lolol

Can you tell I’m having the best time? Oh yeah, I am…

Take care all of mine… go in safety always… Remember, try to steer clear of the USDA, the DEA and UNITE! LOLOL if possible!

Morning all…Gotta love the mountains… 90 during the day…Humidity at a gazillion percent …No breeze and the a/c quits early in the day… Call for repair men… Guess what!?! It’s FRIDAY afternoon… Ain’t nobody home… I even called the Boss Man, but he was out on another call! (I am telling a BIG fib here!) Nobody works on the weekends, nobody!

Well, I called Jessie… she’s gonna take me Wallyworld in Jackson. Going early this morning…I squiggled enuf money out of my savings to buy a small A/C. I can at least be cool here in the apartment.. Managed to get to sleep but I did have 3 fans blowing on me… Sheesh… If it ain’t one thing it’s a bunch of others. Gonna be another hot one today… already in the 80’s, inside and out. Dogs don’t like this heat either…

Well ratz… lolol I put some smell good cream on my arms and now I have a smell good keyboard… NO! I’m not typing with my arms, ding dings! I forgot got I had it on my hands… lolol

Fed and watered all the critters… now, I’m just a waiting for Jess and the sainted Gary to arrive.

Heaven forfende! Am I complaining about the weather? Oh yeah… I am a Fall and Winter person… and Spring ain’t too bad either…

Later all…

Same day 1852 hours…

Made trip…only we went to Manchester instead of Jackson…only a 50 mile round trip instead of a hundred plus… Got a GE… 6000 btu. Even has a remote! A remote? Lolol Just my style too old and too sorry to get out of the chair?

Well, anyway… unit is installed… working and the temp is slowly but surely dropping here in the apartment…I am gonna survive and my enemies are weeping in the streets of greater downtown Booneville. Lolol

I was a bad girl at Walmart but I’ll tell you about that tomorrow… Gots to get used to this new sound and feeling to the apartment…

Take care all of mine, go in safety always… Remember, you can most always get warm, especially when you have dogs… There ain’t any amount of ‘taking off’ that will keep you cool. I think I just said a truism…

Many hugs and much love… meems… the air cooled meems!

Gee whiz! I’ve enuf stuff to take care of three days worth of news… lolol And then some!

Before I forget, the figures for the A/C yesterday were wrong… A/C is actually 8000 btu not 6000. I have no idea where that 6 came from … I DO know that my brane and fingers, separately and/or collectively, have minds of their own. Rarely do I have any control over either one.

Oh children, it is yummy cool in here… Might even have to put some clothes on! Bad Paula… shame on meems! Lololol

One thing about the window unit… (I’m not used to having a noisy fan going in here during the day) .. Sound is different and I was aware of the sound all day. Was not comfy with it but today is not as bad. By tomorrow, I shouldn’t ‘hear’ it at all.

There is a small problem with this tho… The a/c drowns out all other sounds… I cannot hear the crows fussing or the dogs barking or my flyguys going over…Well ratz… life ain’t perfect and I am very comfortably cool… Shut up, Paula!

Let’s see here… Oh, me being a bad girl at Wal-mart. I asked the clerk with some help with the a/c.. sort of heavy for me and Jess to handle… The sainted Gary disappeared as soon as we went thru the doors… Can you believe he refuses to be seen with the two of us girls? Can’t imagine why! Lolol Anyway, to be nice to the guy, he did have shoulder surgery about a month ago.

Purty soon here comes a cute young man to do the lifting and toting for us… He told me that he worked 3 jobs and was still broke…

Well, me being the kind hearted soul that I am, I offered him a rent free space in the basement; sleep on the hide a bed down there… in exchange for some work that needs to be done around the house.

Jessie, friend that SHE is (not) warned him not to take me up on the deal… I would work him to death! Me, in the meantime, is standing there looking innocent and childlike… The check out clerk and the young man cracked up… Young man told me he has a home of his own… Paid for! Sheesh… Told him I was so disappointed… had my hopes built up and all that nonsense… lolol

Then, I paid the bill by check…Now remember… this little mountain woman who ain’t been to a ‘big’ store in forever, is now in a big town with the latest electronic gizmos. I write out the check… Gal rings it up and now I have to sign my name on the little electronic box thingy.

Lordy pete… I put the point of the pen on the little box and I start to sign my name. Pen and signature line refuse to match up. While I am pondering on this situation, the young man keeps saying: “Now don’t confuse her. Don’t confuse her”…

Well, deciding that pen and line are never going to meet, I scribble my name. Put the pen down and stand there…

And stand there…

All at once, young man reaches across me and punches a button on the box thingy. Jess and clerk are cracking up!

I look at box again… there, as plain as day, in the bottom left hand corner is a button that says ‘enter’ or sumfin like that.

I didn’t see that button… didn’t know I had to push it… Duh Paula! I looked at Jess.. Did you know? She nodded yes… I wanted to know why she didn’t say sumfin… I quote: “ you were having too good a time”…Well, that was a truism…!

Any how, after clearing the check-out lane, out the door we go… Young man pushing the cart with the a/c…to the pick-up. Loaded the a/c in the bed. I thanked the young man…and gave him a hug and a smooch on the cheek… He giggled but did not blush. Kissed me back… Wowser… Wonder if he is up for adoption. Never hurts to ask! Lolol

I think I need to get out more often… lololol

I am out a here… gots to start rearranging furniture and stuff… Oh yeah… move or change one little thing and the whole house gets out of whack! Gots to make space so I can remove the filter on the a/c. Groan!

Take care all of mine…Go in safety always. Remember to head the other direction if I mention the need to go shopping. Especially if you are easily embarrassed.

Many hugs and much love… the had the best time meems
