I miss waving and playing with my flyguys…I miss seeing them playing hopscotch with the clouds and the winds. I miss getting flashed on a daily basis. I haven’t been able to check out the second window of the bird. (If you don’t know this story, you’re better off not asking. Lolol)

Being this ancient (bite your tongue, Marv) has it’s definite perks.. flirting outrageously with them good looking men…Cussing a little (sometimes a lot)…Saying whatever I want, when I want and how I want, going to bed when I want and if I want to paint the ceiling pink with red polka dots, I can!
The bummer side is not being able to get out every day in the summer time… The heat I can handle but the combo of heat AND humidity is unbearable for me. Somedays, I can’t even go out to get the mail…Does this mean I am house-bound? All in all, tho, it ain’t too bad.

Let’s see here, what else has happened the last few days.
Ants in the mail box again! Look out world … and is anybody interested in a used ark? I’ve had several comments about putting names on the waiting list… including the Boss (he wants one with a bar) ..KK just wants to be put on the list, just in case. (she is down weather from me) lolol Looks like I have a winner here!
Oh, the new Boss man here at the Haven is the Newbie! He now rules the area with a firm hand! I’m still not too sure about the Newbs and the Lilah….
Maxfield was missing for a few days… I thot I had lost another but he came home yesterday… Was in good shape so maybe he was out courting or sumfin. Anyway, he’s home and all in one piece. Ought to beat him to a pulp for causing me to fret! I DO worry ya know.
Thursday is gonna be a busy day. Gots to take the Viva to have her spayed. Jessie is going to pick me up early and do the driving… will do some shopping in Beattyville while waiting to pick her up. I must get up BEFORE breakfast again… sheesh! Can you say 100 mile round trip?
I can’t remember if I told you that I have the waterfall running again… Fixed that the other nite after the sun went down… and another ‘can you say’ watching for snakes? It ain’t smart to play around the pond edges after the sun sets… nocturnal hunters are just beginning to rise.
The butterfly bush gave up the ghost… It was so pretty last year. I might have some shoots coming up from the base but I didn’t climb down between the big rocks to see. I found Johnny-Jump-Ups on the far side of the pond. (Mini pansies…I think I sprinkled those seeds last fall) The honeysuckle is in full bloom and smells sooooo good. I have wild sweet peas blooming too.. and a strange looking flower, deep purple blossoms, single stalk about 14” tall… Have no idea what they are…but they sure are pretty.
Later brats! Meems has gots to get busy…
Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember to look up and see the sky…but also look down sometimes.. see the small flowers there.

Mornin’ everybody… Get in here where it’s cool… Gonna be another hot and humid day!
I went out for a few this mornin’ to feed and water the dogs… Checked the flowers… Tiger lilies are starting to bloom… Put bunches of them along the property line…Now have the lilies and redbud trees and Russian olives growing there in the midst of the weeds.
I have a patch of some kind of flowers… from a distance, they look like red clover but these sure ain’t clover… I must have thrown a packet of perennials seeds out there last year. Might be the wildflower ‘Catchfly” Lolol I do that all the time and I have no idea what or where anything is. Could I be the Johnny Appleseed of the wildflowers and shrubs? I’m gonna take some pix of them later today.
The lower field is full of all kinds of seeds…Spread some Black Hollyhock seeds in there. Black cherry… Mimosa… What else…? Have no idea… lolol Is that organization or what? Lolol.. Each day is always a new adventure around here.
Remember what I said about my flyguys yesterday… Oh, you weren’t supposed to read the part about the ‘starkers’ but I bet you did anyway. Dintcha? Lolol
Well, when I went out this morning I had on shorts! A couple of my flyguys caught me… lolol (Do bare legs count?) Legs don’t look too bad on this lil old lady! Would I lie to you? Would these lovely green eyes LIE? (Wink, wink, Blink, flutter, batt) I sure would if I thot I could get by with it! Lolol Nah, I wouldn’t! Takes your choice on those last two remarks.
I think I am getting confused here. Also forgetful… I forgot to take out the trash last nite… Yeah, yeah, Boss, I know… now hush! I got carried away working on the Lady of the Flag. Starting to flow and work finally.. lolol I think I worked almost 3 hours non-stop. When I was cleaning the brushes and everything, I discovered it was almost one AM.
I felt good! There’s nothing like the exhilaration of a work going well! YES! Have to let it dry for a while before I do the finish work..maybe two days worth. Have all kinds of ideas falling out of my brain right now… just need to find the time to get them started.
Need to go into town tomorrow and meet with the USDA rep. I still don’t think the dollar amounts are correct even tho the payments have been lowered… Never hurts to check.
Well, the floor needs to be raked again! I’ve already cleaned up at least two dogs worth of hair from the Apartment Floor. Have another whole dog’s worth running around in here. When the Newbie sheds, he sheds!
I’ve given up on a backhoe for the kitchen… I’ve decided I need a road scraper…nothing less will do!
Guess that’s it for today.. I forgot to mention cleaning the puter table tops… lolol Papers all over the place…books waiting to be read…a telephone buried under the aforementioned…various and assorted goodies and munchies…and and and… Lolol
If I EVER manage to get organized, go to Confession! Catholic or not… Cause surely the world is coming to an end! (Don’t fret anybody; organization is not in my ‘book’ either)

Trip to town…Me been bad girl again!
OMG! I have the giggles just thinking about yesterday…
An aside here first! The Boss Man’s been at it again! I’m trying to dig up about 30 second’s worth of “nice” to say about the Garymeister… Give me a minute… hmmm… ahhhh…. Welllll…. Ponder, ponder… Wait! … I’m still thinking… AHA! Nope, that won’t do either!
I give up! Can’t think of a single unit of ‘nice’ to throw the Boss’s way! Gotcha Brat! ROFLMAO!
Seriously, this rotten kid whomped up a beautiful banner for the News in the IOWA group. It’s beautiful and well thought out… The boy’s been playing with Gimp and learning a lot… also developing a good eye for all things artistic. Take a look and visit this neat home style group. Thank you, Boss…
And Caredoe, thank YOU for inviting me to the group…. I think! lololol
Is that it? Can I quit now? The stress of being nice is causing me to break out in hives again! Now where did I put the benadryl?
Back to the trip to town… Oh my goodness… I laffed till I cried…Went to the Action Team and met with the USDA rep…Lordy Pete, that woman is patient…and quite bright! She poked at the calculater, read the reports, asked some questions… made out a new form… Seems like the good people in St. L forgot to credit my account with a few items…one of which was a part of my med expenses.
Anyhow, new figures show that my payments should be reduced by another $15 +/-. You all know I am terrible with numbers but a part of my brain kept saying ‘sumfin not right here’… My brain was right! Rueful here laff…Lolol
More coffee and feed the kitty… brb
Wow, I think I made the coffee a little too strong! Coffee mug is all charged up and ready to run!
Back to the trip to town… I saw a lot of rain/water damage. Mud slumps and slides all along the road way. Trees down… The mud slumps are the ones that worry me. The horizontal slices on the high side are visible from the road. Will they hold until I can get back home? How big are the boulders buried under the dirt?...This is part of the daily adventure when living in the mountains of KY. Don’t this sound like fun? Lolol
Was almost to Booneville when I passed a house with a big sign…FREE YARDSALE …? … As I was running a little early I did a sort of U turn and went back to look. Never want to over look a good free aka leftovers yardsale!
Didn’t stay long but I did find a couple of goodies…. A 24x36 canvas I can re-use after a few coats of primer. Two small gilded oval frames with canvas inserts… ditto on the re-using. A heart shaped trinket box (with lid) made by Pfalzcraft…not a scratch nor chip on it. A maple twin sized headboard (with which to make a flower bed…lol) I’m sure I’m forgetting sumfin.
I must mention that I checked everything I had with the lady… free? Yup, free. I still felt guilty… A nice young man helped me load stuff into the truck and off I went.
Next stop, the Action Team! YES! Lordy pete… lots of ppl running around in there and more laptops than you can count. Have no idea what that was about. None of my business but I did chat with several of the ppl in there… Then I ran into a cop!
Ladies, I’m here to tell you that feller was cute! Really purty! I kept trying to get him to agree to appear in my Christmas stocking or Easter basket or pumpkin or turkey or sumfin.
At first, he wasn’t too sure about the idea… But apparently he must have pondered on the idea… Came back … said he had reconsidered and wanted to know if I gardened! Took my breath away, it did! Gave me the vapors just thinking about working in his garden… lololol Bad Paula!
Any way, honest as always, I told him my sad tale of being allergic to the sun… Well, that took care of THAT! Shucky darns! Gots the giggles here but it’s the truth so help me! At least I didn’t get arrested…and Pogo hightailed it back to her office… lolol I think I shock her sometimes. She gets that “doe caught in the headlites” look every once in a while. Or I hear Paaaaauuuu - LAAAAAH!
The ppl working with their lap tops cracked up. I also did the ‘stripper’ for them. Remember Joe Namath and the shaving commercial? Wooooweeee…. Talk about giving one the vapors…Joe Namath, that is!
Had bad storms again early this morning…Trip to vet was cancelled… will tell you about that and the rest of the trip to town tomorrow…
BTW, I did finally get thrown out of the Action Team… A unanimous decision made by all as they picked me up, carried me outside and deposited me on the sidewalk! Lololol Locked the door behind me, they did! Lololol

Well, Caredoe... I was just my normal charming self! I picked on, flirted with, giggled, laffed, seriously disrupted, and generally caused a massive upheaval within the building! They can only stand me for so long!
