They sound like a wonderful and caring organization, saving many lives. Among other things, they take pets from shelters that have high kill rates and transport them to parts of the county where there is an abundance of adopters waiting for them.

What a sweet face! Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was no need for shelters? I always have to give my rescues a big hug right when I see these ads. I'll be checking out the organization!

Because of the video Seadreamer posted, I learned about these wonderful people at the Rolling Dog Ranch. view link They have a ranch in Montana where they take in horses, dogs and cats that have special needs and which would be quickly killed in most animal shelters. They have animals from all over the US and even from Canada. Here is a video about these amazing people:
People like this are such a contrast to people like Ingrid Newkirk of PeTA, who believes that all pets are better off dead than being owned and who sees to it that the vast majority of the animals that come into the PeTA shelter do not leave alive.
Savingshelterpets.com, Rolling Dog Ranch and so many other wonderful sanctuaries for animals in need show how much good people can do. I truly believe that most people want to see animals well cared for and organizations like these which are based on love and compassion for animals deserve our whole hearted support. Without Pet Lovers, I never would have heard of either of these super organizations.

I have been thinking how many good homes more animals would have if we could get a tax deduction like we do for our children. Any animal, now days, are thought more of than 10 or 20 years ago. I know I am dreaming but, I really think more people would adopt animals if they could get a tax deduction.
I dearly love my 3 dogs and two cats and I spare no expense to make sure they have good health care, food, comfortable beds and of course lots and lots of love. However, I am finding in today's economy it is hard for me to buy food for them or at least the kind of food I prefer for them to have. I just hope that the lower quality food for my dogs will not make them get old faster than the better quality food.
Anyway, just a dream and a thought.
