@MrTSauce - That makes sense. Maybe bad HTML in the green box? At least we know where to look. Thanks.

tallbob...any luck finding out about the survey pop up that has been irritating quite a few people on the site?

I believe you were going to check with the Marketing Department on Monday.
Several people have been complaining about this in the Managers and Moderators group and I believe I also read some rumblings in the Computers Technology and Internet Solutions group.

The Mktg. Dept. verified that it was authorized. I presume we were blackmailed - or perhaps offered riches beyond our wildest dreams?

1) Any Group message
2) Spaces are added for no apparent reason - this frequently makes problems when posting about html or css.
3)
a) PC
b) Firefox
c) 3.0.15

Demonstration - this is a line of hyphens without spaces

Sorry - the spaces are necessary to prevent unwanted visual artifacts (and total layout breakage in some versions of IE) if/when a word is too wide to fit on one line. On our side (the server-side), we have no sure way to predict the actual rendered width of a word, so we limit the number of contiguous non-whitespace characters.

I'm not sure I'm in the right thread for this but here goes. Upon signing in, a banner ad at the top of the page was flashing blue and white and it SCREAMED at me "You Have Won!" I didn't click on it and there was no identifying info printed on it either. This is the type of advertising I would expect on My Space but not here and usually contains major adware problems. Did this slip by the monitors or do I need to keep my speakers off and update my virus protection when visiting?

Yeah, I just saw that flashing one as well. No way do I ever click on those, no matter where they show up. I am amazed that anyone would.

I agree, collieflower. It's best not to click anywhere on the ad, at least, not until Eons has a chance to check it out. It would be better to refresh the page - or ignore it.

For those that haven't seen the ad, here's a screenshot:

There was a post view link in the CT&I group about an article, "How To Spam Facebook Like A Pro: An Insider’s Confession" I could be wrong, but this ad sounds like some of the ads he described in the article.
