Yay, Paulines! Welcome!
Anne
Hi Anne , thanks for the Yay!
OK - so I'm taking the plunge. I haven't tried doing small paintings and I do mostly oils. I just ordered 2.5 x 3.5 boards and canvas (?) from Jerrys Artarama. Stay tuned (though it many take me a while. I still work part-time and I am working on the coffee challenge from the Drawing and Painting group.)
You'll love it! We will be waiting patiently to see your work.
They are fun to make..I am learning so have started with card stock and acrylic paint can't afford canvas
I do watercolors so use 140 lb. watercolor paper. I don't know if there is any specified weight of paper that has to be used, but probably card stock is just fine. I think it's important to keep costs reasonable. They sell a heavy canvas type paper that would probably work good and cost less than canvas. I'd look at Hobby Lobby. I know one artist who is using black and colored card stock for her colored ink and prismacolor cards. Have fun!
DYI network Craft show at 6:30 EST mentioned ACEO's this morning.
Wondering if there are other teaching opportunities?

I suspect that we will be hearing more about ACEOs in the future. It seems to be quite a popular art movement. It's a great way to collect original art. It's affordable,it's fun and it doesn't take up your entire house. It's easy to become somewhat addicted to this passion but it doesn't take up your entire life.
