Where do YOU bead?

Say, wouldn't it be fun to share what our beading areas look like? We all might get some new ideas about our workstations. I have finally started beading standing up on a gel mat. It seemed I was always hunching over when I beaded sitting down, and it was starting to become a challenge for my back. My husband built a small platform to make the work area just the right height, and that sits on a laminate countertop we picked up at Home Depot. I've posted a shot of my workstation and I'd love to get a look at how other people stay organized (or not). Is anyone game to share?

WOW.. your husband sure is a great guy...!
My workstation is mainly sitting on the floor..lol ... sometimes I try to sit at the table or use a wooden ..standing tv "tray".... I like the floor more.. except that when I have to get up... it sure is hard.. and hurts.. but I still like it..
What about someone else... where do you like to have your "beading workstation.." .. this is a very interesting post... thanks..

lol - right now I have carved out a small space on the dining room table (which is piled with boxes and gardening stuff at the moment). I share the space with two curious cats, so working on a project can be an adventure! As I find more time to do beading, I'm hoping to get a more permanent spot set up somewhere.

To ladybugblu - Thanks for posting your workstation pictures - you look very organized there. I see you also use one of the lighted magnifier lamps - no beading could get done in my home without it!!! The larger drawers are a good idea - my space is short on those.

I still bead wherever seems convenient to my project of the moment. I have a small bedroom in our home as my bead/sewing/computer room and have all my beads and materials in this room. I have two old printer cabinets (each has about 20 drawers) that store my beads and beading materials. Sometimes during the day, I will do a bead project in my room - if it's bead stringing or making a charm bracelet. If it's a more complicated seedbead project, I will take it to the living room and bead while watching TV at nite with my husband. Of course I need my Ott lite for tiny seedbead projects which is located by the couch where I sit to bead. I usually just pile my tubes of seedbeads onto a tray, along with beading needle and thread. I also have a smaller Ott lite in my bead room for beading projects during the day - the Ott lite gives true color to the beads. When my daughter from FL visits us, we take our beading projects to the dining room table where we can spread things out. My husband likes to investigate our work from time to time to see what progress we've made - he gets a big kick out of watching us bead, then seeing the finished project.
Happy beading!
