New use for old tunes
As good an album as Quadrophenia is, over time, due to ceaseless listening in a variety of time/place settings, the excitement and buzz seems to have worn off the classics. Oh, its still great to hear the opening of Reign O'er Me on an overcast day, but generally speaking, many of my favorite "albums" seem to have outlived their usefulness..until the last few months. During my recent efforts to lose 10-15 pounds, Ive started with a gym routine that includes 30 minutes on the elliptical. There is only so much ESPN I can watch and listen to, so Ive put all my CDs into my Ipod. Now, when I need to get my heart rate going, I find myself listening to these songs in a whole new light. Can you see the REAL me indeed...
