Quantum Sorcery

I was reading an article that says that Quantum Sorcery is a subset of Chaos Magick. (Whatever that is.) OK, well, leaving chaos magick for another time, let's just consider Quantum sorcery.

Quantum sorcery is based on the premise that the human mind causes minute changes in the behavior of subatomic particles and energy fields withing space/time.

Well, with what we now know about some of the weirder phenomenon in quantum physics, does this sound all that 'out there' to you? Do you think it has possibilities?

I'm really putting myself on the line here. lol.

When I catch myself dosing off at the wheel, I'll do this thing, which I'll refer to here as 'body shocking'. Somehow I open throttle my vascular system or who knows what I'm doing, but the effect is like that of being shocked. It keeps me on the road.

Anyway I have occasionally tried this simultaneously with 'determinism', my own form of agressive meditation where I refuse to acknowledge certain possible outcomes of a pending event while also incouraing a particular desired outcome. I don't delude myself that I am actually changing the physics of my reality but rather I am choosing a particular dementional 'branch' of upcoming possibilites.

I just knew someone would accuse me of that! lol Does this mean I have to go stand by the stake?

I might as well finish... SO, of the times I've done this there were three times I was aware of the feeling during this process that things were going my way from moment to moment. Of those three times, the outcome was what I wanted. Yeah! Of the other times I tried this and did not attain my desired outcome, I was aware that I wasn't putting enough energy into this process from the begining. I felt "off" from the 'get go'.

The most uncanny result was when my daughter's soccer team won a championship despite going into the tournament as the underdogs, and being severely outplayed throughout regular game time, then on a series of errors by the other team and a series of flukes from her team, they won. Of all the times I tried this, this particular day I had had the strongest feeling of being 'on' with my little experiment.

I'm not passing judegment on metaphysics as I do not want to offend my beloved logic, but I DO like playing with fire, so all I was doing was experimenting :b

I do believe that mind can affect our own personal energy field, or aura. I have been around people who gave off such a positive field that they seemed to glow. I believe that this personal field can be felt and shared by those around them. Moving from person to person, and literally raising the vibrations of an entire group of people who share that space.
Whether that energy can be channeled and sent out into the world in general is debatable to me. Whether we can use our own personal vibration beyond the point of how we react to a given situation I also find debatable.
I have noticed that when I am typing while feeling an extreme emotional response to what I am writing, 9 times out of 10 my computer will mess up. I have just come to expect it, and am not even surprised anymore.

I am totally okay with the positive thinking aspects of this topic. Years ago, we referred to this as transactional analysis---the I'm okay, you're okay concept. You place all of your energy and focus your thoughts on a positive outcome. I have seen it work in sports and other endeavors. What I cannot come to grips with is how "wishing it so" can influence subatomic particles and energy fields within time and space. Having said that, off the top of my head, I cannot come up with another more plausible explanation. The name quantum sorcery is almost a show stopper for me though. That implies that any scientific component has been removed and an element of magic has been inserted.

Magic happens.
There must also be a strong emotional investment; it is intention, not just wishing ... your heart has to be in it. And, as The Intenders of The Highest Good state, it must be for the good of all people, everywhere.

All I said was that I experimented--and so far I'm at 100% association between pre experiment mood and the outcome of my choice. lol

Quest, Dindrane, you two should read February's issue of Discover magazine, the article on Quantum Physics and consciousness. Also, I have linked to this before but science appears to be showing us that matter is nothing more than vibrations of 'nothingness' view link

--Dindrane, this relates to the theory of Entanglement, which I referred to on you Superconsciousness thread.

I can accept the theory of empty space, as that makes sense to me. Whether our minds can send out energy into that empty space in order to 'make magic' is my problem. I believe that magic and it's beliefs have played an important role in the development of mankind's growth though. I am fond of the idea. Beyond the own personal 'magic' that we can produce in our surroundings, I remain unconvinced. If it were so I could have made a fortune at Santa Anita Racetrack. :-)
I know, I'm a hard nut to crack.
