Hoosier Check In and Recycled Waders!
HootIV .. say, at least you got to the water! ". ) Glad to hear it. Temps here in Hoosierville also reached the unpleasant warmer temps of an impending summer sweep. I do enjoy warm, but not not and definitely not muggy. Both were encroaching my neighborhood this week. But I was not able to hit any water other than the shower and 'can'.
And Gliph ... nice sounding 'toys' you're playing with these days. I've cast a spey, but never owned one. Though I occasionally hit streams of size to accommodate the spey's casting range, most our streams here would only allow me take on maple, oak, willow and sycamore. Agreed on the 'cold temps' haning on. But of course when you say winter hangs on longer than normal you really mean that! '. )
LBRetired and Wacko must be out drummin' up fun on the water as we've not heard from them in a while. But of course I've been pretty dormant myself. I assure you it's not been the desired mode at all! Life has a way of preempting what we might think we have planned.
On-the-road for the next few days, taking 'mom' (we are now, and have been since early March, an 'elder hostal' for my aging mother-in-law) back to her house in the KY state. She's currently in 'reacquaint mode' - translated: "What did you all do with _____ [fill in the blank on this or that piece of 'stuff' that should have seen the recycle or trash bin 15 years ago!! ]?" . So I'm listening to draws, doors, and chairs moving as she goes about her familial greetings to the 'home'.
Now about those 'leaky waders'. Here's an idea for you and it's a right smart one, too. RECYCLE those old and leaky waders into usable 'other stuff'. I came across this web site, Recycled Waders, the other day.
At first when I saw it I thought it was a joke. But they are for real. And I started kicking myself with the same 'mental boot' I'd done so with before: "WHY didn't I think of that?
These guys have really got a great idea going here. Do take a look at their stuff - not a huge offering, currently, but very useful indeed. And read their site. It's small, but very well designed and 'to-the-point'. Sort of like the philosophy behind their product design.
Do have fun on the water and be sure to post photos and tell us all the details.
Best to all and may your casts only hang up in upper maxilla!
