You are going to have the time of your life! I've been slacking about posting and saw your question about how much time you'll have with the kats. I am so sorry for not responding sooner. I went in September and the weather was great -- cool at night, but warm during the day. It was chilly in the morning so make sure you have a jacket. You are out in the field every day with the meerkats. You will see and work with many of the groups. You are down in the sand with them a lot, so it's better to have lighter clothing than jeans -- the sand just sits in your jeans and you something that "sheds" the sand. I will be glad to tell you anything else you want to know or answer any other questions. I'm going to my page now to post some photos for you.

Thanks so much for the info. Just wondering a few things...1.. Did you take anti malaria meds? 2.. Any need for mosquito net? 3.. How many sets of clothes did you bring? (Better to bring less or more?) 4.. Was there anything that you brought that was really handy or anything you wished you had brought? Anything you wish you had just left at home? 5.. What did you choose to do on your free days? What's Joberg airport like (I have a 14 hour layover there). 6..I know they say they'll provide bedding but would you suggest bringing a sleeping bag anyway? 7.... I'd like to buy some soccer balls and stuff for the school kids, can I do that Upington or is it better to bring from home? 8...Finally... I'm not a wimp, but just curious... how often do you get to have a shower?
I know that's a lot of questions. I'll be happy with whatever you've got time to respond to:)

Are you back from the KMP yet? I didn't know if your trip was early, mid or late September -- let me know as soon as you are back. I can't wait to get some early news.
